I thought I read it on another thread. Can't remember who posted it, sorry.

No matter, the MS rep that handled my switch gave me the telephone # for the Itinerary Planning Office, so I'll probably give them a call in a few weeks to clarify the time frame. (He did say that they would be contacting me, but sometimes, I have "control" issues..................... )

I've heard/seen both (90 and 180) so I was planning to call at 180 days and worst case, would be told to call back in another 90 days.

It's 180. I'm already booked for the sunset and sunrise safari on Dec 1 and Dec 2, respectively. (We have a cash room reserved at club level just for that purpose.)

Yes, I contact concierge directly rather than to through the planning system people. Concierge can enter info directly.

I asked if I should call day-by-day for the Sunrise and Sunset Safaris and he told me that they would probably book both if I called at the 180 day point. He said that they work like Disney Dining. So I will call at the 180 point of the start of my vacation for both the Sunrise Safari and Sunset Safari.

I am calling from the start. I think that it's from the day of the event, but they'd book it if you called from the start of your stay, according to this person, like they do with Disney Dining.

I'd use the 180 +10 rule.
