Wagon vs. sleigh ride

We will be at the Fort in December, our 3rd time staying in a cabin. We have always done the sleigh ride our first night to get us in the holiday/Disney/Fort spirit. My parents are coming with us this year, for the first time in 30 years, and I would love for them to see the wonderful Christmas decorations at the Fort. However, we are trying to keep things as economical as possible, and since we have a party of 6 we would need 2 sleighs.

I saw that there are also wagon rides offered for $8 per person, although I don't recall seeing wagons during our sleigh rides we have taken in the past.

So, a few questions - do they take the same route, is it available during the holidays, and if a different route do you see a lot of the decorations?

I know we could rent a golf cart, but it would still be more expensive than the wagon, although I would love to rent the cart, just don't think it is an option for us this time. Any thoughts on the wagon would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

disdrmg,

The wagon rides are usually available during the holiday time and go around the loops closest to the Trails End/Pioneer Hall area so you would see many Christmas decorations. The sleigh rides probably cover the same general areas.

I would recommend this over getting golf carts given the size of your group. There a FEW 6-seaters that Disney rents but you can't reserve them they are first come first served. So you would have to likely end up with 2 4-seaters. And at $65 per day each, that's some coin.

Depending on how you get to the Fort (coming from a resort or the MK?) you can easily walk the loops in the 100-200-400-700 area and see great decorations. You can also hop the internal busses and get off wherever you see a bunch of deocrations.

But if you don't want to hoof it and want to see a nice bunch of setups and decorations, the wagon is probably the best way to go.
