How about a cowboy dude ranch theme incorporating the horse stables, with horse carriage rides, staged shoot outs, and a saloon. There could be an indian section providing historically accurate information about different tribes, etc.

Oh I agree I vote for one in the Castle at the MK - I have always wanted to stay there.

how about the Haunted Mansion?

Or a Treehouse type one - across from Splash Mountain - great views of the parade.

Studios - I would like something close to Star Tours - but yes one in the TT would be great too.

Epcot - yes inns all around the World Showcase - when do we sign up????

My kids would love a DVC in TOon TOwn... they would think it was way cool to sleep in Minnie-Mouse sized beds! Or a bonk in Donald's Boat... (it's not like they use it to have FUN in anymore, since the water's been off since 1998, I think!)

For me, I'm happy with the resorts we have, but I'd like a monorail to VB. I might actually visit there, if I could leave the driving to someone else! I would like another off-site DVC resort (big pipe dream, but you said think big!) I'd like a mountain resort, like the Greenbrier -- a change of pace from the beach resorts. With all sorts of activities (winter sports, summer boating / hiking, spa, kid's programs, etc.) Do it up Disney style (and make it near WV, please!! )

I like the Train idea... very "WALT", too, with his love of the rails. I think he'd approve.

I think if we inhabit the TOT, they should put in a restaurant that does murder mystery dining (like Agatha's in Atlanta, but ala Disney style). Just think how this place would book up during MNSSHP!

DH would love a DVC up-scale version of an All-Sports... with an ESPN restaurant in it... TVs everywhere, even in the bathrooms to watch your games while on "the go"... and special rates to events at WWS...

And for the points-bargain-conscious... maybe a resort that combines long long hallways, dumpster and parking lot views, poor housekeeping, all HC, bugs galore, and tiny, very un-OKW-like closet-style rooms... Zero dues for this resort as the incentive, since upkeep would be fairly nonexisitent!

See my post above. I mentioned a tropical space, but a moutain area would be just fine with me too. It's the way Disney does it that counts. My kids love the club on the ship.

I vote for the castle theme, my favorite part of our trip is the princess breakfast in the castle. Last year we found out there is a four bedroom suite inside that was ment for Walt. No one has ever stayed there. I wonder if that is true. I would also LOVE the AKL villas.

I like the Dude ranch theme. That would fit nicely between River country and the Wilderness Campgrounds. They could even use the River Country facilities for the pool area!! Wouldn"t that beat SAB as the best themed pool?

I would like to see a Las Vegas style resort complete with live shows and a casino.

The DVC boat with different stops ( Hawaii, Alaska etc) also interested me.

The train to the Disney cruise lines will never happen. Disney wanted to construct a monorail from the airport to WDW, and the state wouldn't let them, so I doubt a train to Canaveral would get any support either.

Getting back to the "Wacky" theme, here's a recycled post of mine from long ago on the Resorts board, modified for DVC:

Disney's Turnabout Villas Resort

Point chart: 2 points studio, 4 points 1BR, 6 points 2BR, double on weekends. Sounds great, but....

Guests must earn their keep by waiting hand-and-foot on Cast Members. Guests will work at the front desk, as housekeepers, and in the resort restaurant. They will cook meals, wait tables, park cars, do the landscaping, prepare rooms for cast members, listen to their endless minor complaints, continually attempt to reshuffle room assignments to meet their request lists, assuage their concerns over the inadequacies of their current rooms, etc., all while smiling and saying "Welcome Home!" over and over and over. Cast Members who are not satisfied with the level of service provided by a particular Guest can issue a demerit which increases the room rate by 2 points per demerit.

By paying an additional 4 points per night, you can be assigned a "preferred room", where the room is the same as all the others, but you earn your keep working at the Turnabout Spa by giving massages, pedicures, and other spa treatments to Cast Members.
