 I just looked at the weather and they are saying its going to rain from Sun 4/9 thru Wed 4/12  I am soo bummed!!

Don't bum. April is one of the dryest months in Central Florida. The showers are generally the intensity of winter rains (lighter) and the duration of summer storms (shorter). So, even if it is going to rain on a particular day, it is likely to be light and brief (in general). And, don't be surprised if that forecast is completely different when you check it tomorrow, and then again the next day.

Editing on 4/12/06 - I'm sure you are enjoying the week. Not a drip of rain other than that one overnight storm that was gone when everyone woke up. And not a drip in the forecast for the next 5 days. In this case, I'm glad I told you so! ;)

Don't take the weathermen too seriously! Last Aug. it called for a chance of rain for every day of our 8 day vacation....we had an afternoon of rain and only for a couple of hours. Wait until closer to your dates and the forcast will probably change. :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

At one point before we left for our trip (last week of March) weather.com was predicting three days of rain. We didn't see a drop. It shows rain if there's even a 30% chance of a shower, which really isn't much of a chance. And even if it rains, think of it as a benefit - it might keep the crowds down! Just bring a poncho - they're expensive at the parks.

Thanks for the encouragement!! Its been a rough winter. It seems like my 5 yr old has been constantly been sick since Christmas pneumonia, colds, viruses , ear infections etc.... Its his first year full time in public school , His 2 younger brothers haven't been as bad. We could all use a week of Fla sun and fun. :sunny: :mickeyjum :donald: :goofy: :stitch: :dumbo:

I too have had rain forcasted for a few of my trips and all of them ended up with only an afternoon of rain. Worse yet, it was chance of thundershowers.

Count how many times the weatherman has been right even in the past two weeks, don't know about your area but ours is always wrong. Just this past weekend they forecasted rain rain rain.....well, we had NOT A DROP of rain, then today it rained for about 40 minutes, then dried up.

Don't believe everything they say, take it one day at a time and enjoy!! :)

There's no way in hell that's going to happen.

I agree! I just answered another "rain" post on the other board and hoped we did get some rain - not to spoil your vacation, but to keep away the wildfires. :teeth: I posted I hoped it would rain not while you're in the parks, but maybe only while you're in bed in your room :sunny: - it's so D-R-Y down here right now that if I was a tourist I'd actually be way more worried about fires than rain right now - after the fires of 1998, a hot dry springtime is pretty scary here (FL residents know what I mean!). We've had lots of fires and fire warnings daily lately.....

I can remember DH & I sitting on the beach in '98 in a hazy fire smog of smoke and having burned palm fronds sift down out of the sky on us, and his asthma was really terrible because you just couldn't go anywhere to get away from the smoke smell - it permeated everywhere. Inside the local movie theatre you couldn't watch the screen because the smoke was so thick in the air! They even cancelled the July Nascar race that year because you couldn't see across the track :rolleyes2

I think whoever posted that weather prediction has been drinking something stronger than lemonade. There is no rain predicted here at all. We could really use some, but none in sight.

According to Accuweather.....sunny or mostly sunny everyday.....with a chance of rain on the 10th only.............but still sunny that day.
I want no rain either...I will be there too! :cool1:

Take ponchos. That will guarantee a rain free week. :)

Seriously...if it rains keep going. Buy cheap ponchos from Walmart before you go. Showers don't last for long and the lines are much smaller.

I love when it rains. The lines are so short, and you can get on whatever you want! We went a few augusts ago (oh, my! Actually it was 11 years ago..eek! Time flies!) We just walked onto splash mountain and got to stay on the ride! So awesome! That and BTMR. FUN FUN FUN

But do pack a poncho, and that will make it not rain!

Thinking :goodvibes for you!

All I can say is Hallelujah if it does rain. We need rain so desperately!
Sorry if a little dampness makes it seem like a ruined a vacation to some of you...but some of the most fun I've ever had in the parks was during the rain.
Most rides/attractions stay open for rain...closures happen when lightning is dangerously close. I will pray that the rain is during the evening hours when you all are sleeping okay? But please pray for us that it does rain....we are under major Red-flag warnings for wildfires right now.

SCARY.

Not sure what weather thing you look at but the one I always use, and is usually right says no rain for the next 15 days!

Before our trip this winter, I was obsessed with checking the weather. We ended up having couple of days at the end of the week with rain pretty much all day. Earlier in the week, both kids had a stomach bug and my daughter was sick for 3 days and ended up at the hospital for 6 hours. After that, rain doesn't seem like a big deal.

Bring your ponchos and go to the parks. It keeps the crowds away. With the right attitude, you can have a lot of fun.

I'm sending some pixie dust for you and your family!!! Have a great trip. :)
