Hi,

I was wondering if those who had received pin codes lately had done anything lately that they think might have sparked them. We used to get them, but no such luck for the past year. I've ordered maps, DVD, priced out vacations, and said yes to mailing lists. I just thought I would ask to see what people have been doing lately that they think may have gotten them added.

TIA,

Stephnaie

I'd love to know too. I've only received one in 2012. Once & never again!

i'm apparently on "the list"... i got the summer PIN code last Friday. and when i searched my email, apparently i had PIN codes from last year, too- the same one for last summer, AND i even had one in there for free dining this past fall!! so i've been getting them for a year i guess. can't think of anything i've done. we went on a DCL cruise this november (and stayed at POFQ the night before), and last february we went to WDW with my parents- but my mom booked under her name, and had my name under her reservation.... so maybe they're trying to get me to book my own trip now?? LOL we have a trip to WDW booked for this year- checking in on 8/29... the PIN code i got ends on 8/27!! SOO maybe they're getting booked up for the week we are going and trying to get me to switch?? LOL i also entered the "Trip a Day Giveaway" in January every day- so maybe its a "sorry you didn't win, but heres a discount...." HAHA Honestly, who knows!!! i don't think theres any rhyme or reason to who gets them. just keep on their list, and hopefully eventually you're email will get "picked"

I used to get them all the time, then it stopped and I think I figured out why. Around the time of our trip last August, I made a MDE account for my husband using a different email address than mine. After I did that, all of the pin codes started going to that address and stopped going to my regular one. I have not received a single email from Disney Destinations since that time to my regular email address...they have all been going to the one registered to his name. Very strange, since I'm the one who plans all of the trips and does all of the booking.

Yep, I'm not sure the rhyme of reason. A few years ago in you saved a few trips online that usually prompted one eventually, but I don't think you have the option to do that anymore. I did price out a vacation earlier in the week and received a email about a different resort from Disney destinations, but no elusive pin code! :(

"Excuse my ignorance, but what is the pin code list?"

A pin code is a unique offer that is sent from Disney to certain individuals for special offers on a trip. Sometimes people get them all, sometimes people get them randomly, and sometimes you get them and then stop. Nobody seems to know how to get on and stay on though.

Nice!! Congratulations! I think Disney thinks I'll go regardless.... but I'm addicted to Disney discounts. :)

My husband used to get them a lot too. He claims it is because he isn't brainwashed like me. :) Maybe I need to start pricing out vacations in his name instead of mine. ;)

Ya know, I just started getting pins in the past 6 months or so. Ever since I got back from our last trip. When I was actively looking for a pin, not a thing. As soon as I stopped planning a trip - BAM. Pin codes left and right. And of course - nothing for any dates/time frames that I could possibly make work. :) Perhaps they noticed I was no longer visiting their websites?? Who knows.

We have never gotten a pin code and we have been 5 times in the last 4 years. We also only got bounce backs when we stayed deluxe but never moderate. Luckily we have been able to get some promo on all of our trips. I am watching for fall 2015!

just hit reply for a single quote
For multi, select + quote for the first! second and so on and reply for the last
You should see only the last quoted until you select insert quotes

This is our family as well. I wish it weren't so! I often wonder why they don't have a "rewards" program for their loyal customers. You can add your trips, ticket purchases to MDE and you are issued a rewards number. One you get to a certain 'level" you should receive discounted tickets, dining or room. Even 10% off would entice me at times!!
