dh, ds and i had our first trip home in sept. we had originally booked BWV and waitlisted BCV. the waitlist went thru practically instantly!

i'm waitlisted now or either BWV or BCV for 12/5-12/11 and i soooo hope it would go through. i have no problem staying at SSR (haven't been there yet and it's my home resort) but since i'm taking my son who will be 17 months old at the time by myself (dh has to work) i was hoping to stay in an epcot resort so i don't have to take a bus to every park.

darn that first waitlist going thru for me! i'm spoiled b/c i really want this next one to go thru!

hey, at least i'll be at disney no matter where i stay :) i will just have to figure out the stroller/toddler situation :)

Sept is an easy time to book. First week of December is difficult to book. You might not get your waitlist this time.

The only time we waitlisted in the past was for a two bedroom villa at SSR instead of a one bedroom during Food & Wine. We only had four people, but wanted the extra space. It never came through.

Good Luck! That is a hard time to get in. I went that weekend last year and was very nervous calling at the 11 month window to get in. I'm currently on the waitlist for ONE night at BCV for a studio and I'm about 3 weeks away and still have not gotten it for Sunday Nov. 7th and at this point don't think I'm going to get it. As mentioned, September is an easy time to get in (so is mid- to late- January).

BTW I noticed you have BCV already listed in your signature for 12/10, does that mean you got your waitlist already??

i just realized that my siggy is deceiving...and wrong. the 9/10 is for BCV and the 12/10-SSR. i put the ":" in between each trip and that just doesn't make sense.

need to change it so it looks right. that's what happens when i try to make it look cute.

i guess i just assumed that since early december is still the value season that it would be easier to get a wait list. however, i'm realizing that just because it's value season doesn't necessarily mean DVC rooms aren't booking up!

if we wind up at SSR it will be ok - it's still a deluxe resort which we wouldn't normally stay at if not for DVC. i just wanted an epcot resort area so it would be easier for me to get to/from the parks. if dh were going SSR would be perfect b/c i'd have help with the buses.

Yes, you will find that the busy times for DVC is opposite of CRO. The value seasons are booked very quickly because of the point savings....

As for SSR, you will be fine there even with the stroller. I actually have come to prefer SSR over a lot of resorts for a number of reasons. The bus problems from a couple of years ago have been handled nicely and I don't feel that it takes a lot to get to any resort from SSR. You can always request grandstand, it is the first pick up at SSR and the first drop off. This way you are guaranteed a seat on the way to the parks and are off the busses first coming back. They also have a nice water play area for your toddler there. You also have the advanatage of getting to DTD very easily if you want to...I love DTD but getting there from other resorts is a pain and involves stopping at water parks, etc.
