Hi all,

We have a family WDW trip coming in Oct. and Dad who is in the wheelchair wants to take us on a birthday cruise around Epcot to see the works. Anyone been on this and know how his ECV will do?? He's rather oversided (450 lbs.) Will getting on and off be a problem--anything you can tell us would be wonderful. Thanks all.

I haven't been on a birthday cruise, but from what people have written about them, they are similar to pontoon boats. I know that pontoon boats can't hold an ecv (too heavy).
You could try calling WDW RESORTS/SPECIAL RESERVATIONS
(407) 939-7807 [voice]
(407) 939-7670 [TTY] and see if they can help you with information.
When you are asking, make sure you are specific in your description of his "vehicle". There are places that are able to accomidate a manual wheelchair, but not an ecv. Be sure to let them know also that he has an extra wide wheelchair (I'm assuming from your description of his size). I don't know how wide the boat aisles are or if that would make a differnce, but better to ask ahead of time.
