Vyvanse and very emotional

Ds (6) has been taking this for about 6 wks.
It has been great for him with focus/attention & calmness.
The only problem is he seems more emotional on it. Cries at the littlest thing and gets frustrated very easy.
I'm going to ask the Dr. about this, but, was wondering if there may be one that is similar, but, without the emotional side effects of it? Tia

Both of my sons take 50mg. I have noticed a little bit of being overly emotional in my DS15 but it is hard to know if that is just him being a teenager.

We have been very happy with Vyvanse. I see more of my boys' personalities come out than with other meds.

Thank you...right now is he on 30mg. I'm wondering if the dosage just needs to be tweaked.

I took my ds off Vyvanse for being emotional and stomach pains. The teacher called me almost daily because he was in the bathroom crying (1st grade), usually around 12-1pm when it was wearing off. Adderall was pretty similar except he didn't eat lunch at all, as well as not growing much. He's gained 12 lbs since switching meds from Vyvanse to Focalin, up to 64lbs now. The side effect he has with Focalin is anger and thats with only 5mg which lasts until 11am. I've heard different stories from different parents. Can you try a lower dose of Vyvanse?

My son cried every day on Vyvanse. He has problems with all of the long lasting meds. Right now he takes Ritalin. I wish I could find I long lasting med, but it wasn't worth the side effects.
