VWL...wow!

Thanks for the feedback regarding this. I would have a problem hearing trucks backing up in the middle of the night. I will definitely request to NOT be in those numbered rooms.

Is there any "area" as opposed to room numbers TO request as far away from this area as possible???:thumbsup2

I uploaded our recent trip pics to Flickr - link here - and this album includes a lot of our studio (4543) and some of the resort itself, including the tree in the Villas lobby and the view of Bay Lake from our balcony. We faced the lake - our hallway was rooms 4531-4363 and we were about 6 or 8 doors down from the hub. Very, very quiet. Just about anything on this wing on any floor would be great, except maybe at the very end (the late 50s-early 60s)...if the trash vehicles are really that loud.

The only thing we heard from our room was the music from the water parade, and we had the balcony door open at the time.

Okay, that didn't work...let's try this again, shall we?

*delete*

Okay, that was huge. :) BUT, if you go back to Flickr, above the photo you'll see a bunch of options. One is "all sizes" and it has a magnifying glass next to it. Click on that and it'll give you the option of downloading it in several sizes. HTH. :)

If you right click you should be able to save the image. Let me know if that doesn't work and I'll email it to you. :goodvibes

Loving the pictures! We have always loved WL...it was our first Disney Experience together in 1995! We bought the furniture from the refurb rooms and is now our bedroom. :-)

Thanks to all who have posted!

We had our first family Christmas away from home in 1994 and spent it at the WL, which had just opened that summer. We fell in love with the place and spent many more Christmasses there. It is also our home resort

Do you remember the fire in the main lodge big fireplace? We saw it and it was hot and roaring. But they realized that it was going to ruin it, so they put in gas logs (unless that is an urban legend!) But it is much calmer now than in the early days.

Yes I remember it and enjoyed it much more. I was told that someone had burned themselves bad, but I believe the fireplace maintenance story. I also remember how they had a bar set up in the lobby on the nights before Christmas, The Gingerbread village with the train set in the lobby and the Christmas eve entertainment was fantastic. Those first few years they would have victorian carollers, a brass band, a country guitar trio and all types of characters. It has trimmed down considerably now, but its still home

Yes, and remember when they used to put the little lights on the trees in the courtyard? I have pictures of the Lodge pre-trimmed down. :santa:

Say, have you ever visited the VWL Groupie thread?
