VWL...wow!

We will be there for our "30th" anniversary starting on Thanksgiving. I've never been there at this time of year, but when I booked the trip I knew it had to be at VWL. I can't wait to sit by the fire and soak up the atmosphere. It will be heaven! I'm really looking forward to some pictures

Happy 30th anniversary to you! Have a wonderful time!:lovestruc

We stayed there for the first time this past February and it is a spectacular resort! All resorts have their pros and cons, but i think VWL and WL together are the most visually appealing.

If you are in the Mercantile, would you mind checking to see if they have frozen mixed vegetables, yogurt and/or what brand(s) of baby food. We are leaving in a couple of weeks and I am trying to figure out what to pack or oder from Garden Grocer for my 11 month old. Thank you.

FYI, all Christmas décor went up last night.

Is the "Mercantile" like the little store at BWV that has liquor, cheese, etc? Is it any different the the other stores at the deluxe WDW resorts?

I totally agree with the sentiments here!

We didn't stay at VWL until last January. Being from Canada the northern lodge theming just didn't interest us. When we finally did stay we were in love walking through the door....and then when we entered our room we just loved it more. Love the seclusion of the quiet pool, closeness to the main pool, on site eating/dining....

We are staying again in March. May have to buy some points.

Yet another convert. :thumbsup2

Can't wait for mid June - 10 nights in heaven on earth.

I haved pictures of the available baby food. I will upload them upon my return Saturday. The selection is rather limited. There is no yogurt for sale in the Mercantile (in answer to someone else's post, that is the only store at the resort), but the CMs did say you could get yogurt at the Roaring Fork Cafe.

I am staying at VWL for the first time in 2 weeks. All of this good stuff about the resort is making me nervous that I might come back with a new favorite resort! Watch out AKV!

There is a special support group for these addictions. I know it is on the mousc board somewhere.:thumbsup2

Glad to hear you're loving it. We'll be there for our first stay on Monday. Man has this week crawled past. Just get over already.

All booked 4 nights in June then on to BCV for a week . I should have split it up more even but after the BWV disaster this year I would rather ease into the other resorts.

We own at SSR but have SERIOUSLY considered an add on on VWL! We spent an evening there in July, its was after a rain and it had cooled down a bit and it was truelly AMAZING! The sun was setting the fire was lit and the quiet pool had numerous ppl in it but was quiet and I gotta tell ya I donot believe I have every seen adults and children more relaxed then at VWL. We went to the boat launch and MK fireworks had started so all traffic was halted and we had the best 30 minutes with 40-50 ppl standing there watching the fireworks. Was like EVERYONE knew EVERYONE else!:goodvibes

Glad to hear you're very happy there. I've always wanted to stay at the VWL but the rates have always just been a little too high so we end up at SSR which I really do like but I love the WL theme and it's also a different location. I was thrilled to snag a studio for an unusually low rate for a few nights in January so I'm really looking forward to our stay there.

Do you know if all of the rooms have been refurbished at the VWL? Do you have any recommendations for a "quiet" room there? I've been reading on the boards that seem to favor the lake side for the quieter rooms? I'd definitely prefer not to face the bus area. What kind of room are you in, 1 bd, 2 bd, studio, etc? Would love to see photos. Is it a real long walk to the boat dock?

Even the rooms facing the bus area (which you really can't see from most of them) are quiet! Unless you happen to be over the dumpster area on trash pick up day with the beeping, there are *only* quiet rooms at VWL:rotfl:

I just returned home from a 4 night stay in a 2 bedroom. I was very pleased with the refurbishment -- except the televisions. I wish they had upgraded them as well. Otherwise, everything was fabulous and practically brand new.
