No more transferring at the TTC! Sounds like a nice transportation option for VWL/WL guests.

Read all about it here.

Best wishes -

Thanks for the heads up. We will be there 2 weeks from Friday.

Well, YAY!!! It will be *so* nice to have this option. :teeth:

That is great news. It has always been one of the things about bus service from the VWL that I didn't like.

I liked going to the TTC and then taking the monorail to Epcot.
I will miss this route.

We were there in Sept (in-between hurricanes), and the 1st bus of the day from the WL took us directly to the MK, it was a nice surprise!

I guess I must be the only one that would never consider the bus for going to MK, we always take the boat, maybe its because the kids like it? I will do almost anything not to take a bus!!

Same here. I can't really see why one would want to wait for a bus when the boat is right there and is much more fun. Sure, the bus ride a probably a little quicker, but by how much? I much prefer any mode of transportation to a bus.

One question. Does the bus start running earlier than the boat to the MK. Getting to an 8:00 CRT PS is a little dicey using the boats. You have to take the CR resort boat that starts at 7:45 and then walk over from there. I suppose the bus may be a good option for that.

I would use the buses!

Love the boats.

But I would probably take the bus to the MK in the mornings and then the boat at non=peak times and when returning to the villas. Seems like the bus stop is much closer to the villas than the boat dock.

Also, from previous experience, it seems like a LONG line to get on the boats in the morning sometimes. We've had to wait for the next boat sometimes. Most of the time, the wait is ok but I've waited in the freezing cold with a stiff wind coming off the water during a cold spell in March. 5 minutes seemed like 50 and when we couldn't get on the boat because it was full, we hopped on the boat to the Contemporary and then walked to the MK. The buses would have come in handy in that case.

We've only stayed at WL once, but we didn't even think about the buses. We always took the boat to MK and never thought anything of it. It is a nice relaxing ride. Pretty, too. I still don't think I'll look for the MK bus next time.

We drive everywhere else, so buses elsewhere are not a concern.

We think it will be great to have several options available from WL/VWL to MK.

Nice to have the option!

Maybe this will relieve some of the congestion on the boats going back to the WL/VWL on the "high use" night like Specro.

We've done the wait several times on a Friday night after a packed MK for Spectro.

Hopefully the direct bus from the MK to the WL/VWL will take care of some of the wait.

:earsboy: :earsboy: The boat is the best way to go. We would do anything to not take the bus. We have two kids and have to use a stroller. When you take the boat or monorail it is a snap to get on and off.:p :p

We never even realized there was a bus for MK. Just assumed everyone took the boat! We are most definately NOT bus people! It's boats, monorails, or we drive.

I think it is a nice option for people, however we love the boat ride over to MK! :)

Must be totalling clueless here, but when there is a big storm, do they still run the boats? What would they do if thunder. At least now, there is an option of the bus, if storms are coming, right?

I think this is probably bad news. The only resorts that still had a direct bus to the ttc were wl/ftw, because that was the alternate transportation to the MK when water levels wouldn't accomodate handicapped riders on the boat. That meant that you could take a quick bus ride and hop the monorail to epcot. So in reality it was as easy to get from wlv to epcot as it was from a monorail resort, because you are so close to the bus stop and the monorail has to change trains anyway. The bus route to epcot from wilderness lodge is a long one, because it stops at wilderness lodge first, then ft. wilderness, then it goes around the dixie landings side of the resort to epcot. So the best route to epcot from wlv was to bus to the ttc and catch the monorail, when you factor in the "fun" factor of riding the monorail. With a direct bus to the magic kingdom I don't know why they would continue to the bus to the ttc. There wouldn't be a reason for it to be necessary, and if it isn't necessary it won't stay around for long. It will make it nicer to get back from the lodge after an e-night, and maybe for handicapped folks if the water level is bad. Beyond that, I can't see this as a good thing.

So I must be really out of the loop. So no resort buses go to TTC anymore? I thought that was the "hub" where you could go anywhere???
So I guess if you need to get to another resort and had no other transportation you must either go to DTD or a park and switch from there?

Back on topic, we would prefer the boat to the bus.
