Hello,

Everyone here helped me plan such a wonderful first family trip last May that I know someone will be able to help me now.

We want to go back this year the first week of May and take my MIL along.

We also want to stay at the WL again.

If we choose to stay at the WL in a regular room they will charge an extra $25 per night - correct?

Do they add that extra adult charge to the Villas? If not, do you think it would be a better deal to stay in the Villas?

So I found another thread that said DVC doesn't add extra charges for a 3rd adult.

I still wouldn't mind hearing/reading about anyones experiences with 3 adults in a studio at VWL.

Is the one bedroom worth the extra money? I know they have whirl pool tub.

It is only me, the hubby, the boy and the MIL.

Thanks in advance for any info.

IMO, having extra space is a HUGE factor in resort/room decision making. Will you be in the room a lot? What about afternoon naps, and such? If you plan on this, I would go with a room at the VWL. :)

No we won't be in the room much but a comfortable nights sleep is a must. We usually go all day. My son is not a napper and doesn't get cranky without one so I don't push it.

We had a bunkbed courtyard view at the WL last time. Were going to do a standard room this time to make it a bit cheaper. The problem with that is that my six year old will have to sleep with my MIL in a queen bed.

I know I can request bunk beds but they are more and I am not guaranteed to get one.....so that is what got me thinking the Villas may work better. Escpecially, if we are charged $25 a night more for the WL for an extra adult.

Oh well, I will scour the boards and find out my best approach.....I would try another resort but we LOVED WL and the vicinity to MK is a big Pro.

Thanks

if you go through CRO to rent VWL then you still pay the extra per person.

renting thru a dvc member there is no charge for extra adults.

a studio has a queen bed and a double sleeper sofa

the 1-bedroom has a king bed and queen sleeper sofa.

if you rent from a dvc member try not to stay on Fri or Sat nights - they are more expensive than Sun-thurs (leaving on fri)

most of the VWL are woods view - not great courtyard views like at WL.

You definitely will be charged for the extra adult at WL. You definitely won't be charged for an extra adult at VWL. I think the one bedrooms are definitely worth it for 4 because of the loads of extra room, the washer/dryer, and the kitchen (save money on food even if you don't cook - snacks alone could save a bundle).

The down side of VWL is that unless you bring a blow up mattress, your son will have to sleep with MIL on a pullout couch. The Studios have a queen bed and a double pullout. The 1 bedrooms have a King in the bedroom and a queen pullout in the livingroom.
