VWL review (long)

MG: Thanks for the info, especially on the transportation. I'm glad it was on target more than it was off. Were you at the MK late any nights, especially after the boats are sut down? If yes, how was that transportation back? I always found that to be the most frustrating transportation problem and unique to VWL.

HBC
Hi, HBC. I guess we were lucky, as we were at the MK twice (once was MNSSHP) until close and the boats were still running.
In my opinion, the most frustrating part of the WL/VWL transportation was sharing with FW. It really did make a short boat ride long.

Thanks for the report MG.
Yes indeed! That visit to the bathroom was an E ticket attraction! :teeth:

So there is another use for those blinking head lights!

I have been wondering about your VWL leg of the trip. sounds like it was all just wonderful. Can't wait to go home and SSR. I am very interested in this and may try to convince DH that it would be a better idea than to get a second timeshare from Marriott or someplace else.

I Have always wanted to try the parasailing. the prices seem comparable to ohter places and w/ the 10% discount that will be nice. Is it the same rate for children? Are the hours restricted to daylight? I would think so, but it would be awesome to have that view at night. How far could you see up there in the wind, flying around like-(pick one) Peter Pan, Mary Poppins or Tinker Bell?

Hi, nezy. The models of SSR looked absolutely beautiful! If there is any way that I thought we could use more points at WDW, this is where I would add-on.

I don't know about children's rates for parasailing, but there was not a special rate posted at the window. Perhaps doing a tandem with the kids is the way to go?
I am guessing that it is daylight only. It really is an art form to drive the boat. There must be a lot going through the captain's thought process. On top of keeping you safe and afloat, he had many small boats to dodge ect...
I should mention that there is a sign on the boat that says "tips are greatly appreciated". I kind of expected this, and I flipped the Captain $20 for a tandem. My MIL flipped the first mate $5 for a single (I assume they split tips), and the other folks on the boat did not give any.
We had a good view of almost all of WDW. Of course, it depends on your altitude, but I could clearly see Epcot, and even downtown Orlando in the distance.

I think MOST here would have fun doing this, but it is not for everybody.

I have gone parasailing before:once years ago in Greece and 2 yrs ago at Castaway Cay. That was awesome, alhough the thought of how far I would travel in the wind before I came down if the rope broke off, did cross my mind! Then I thought , well I can stay afloat w/ this life jacket-but what about Sharks!! My how the mind does wonder.

I quickly put all of that out of my head and enjoyed the birds eye view of the Wonder, CC and the beautiful blue Carribean.
I would love to get that perspective of WDW. Next time!!
