Someone is looking to sell VWL 170 pts at $ 65 a pt on the resale market. Even with paying the closing cost that works out to $ 67.65 a pt. That should go quickly.

I think that it is a fair deal, but by no means a GREAT deal IMHO. By my calculations, even if you figure out closing costs as only $500.00, that equals out to $2.94/point, bringing the point cost to $67.94/point, which is only $2.06/point off of what you would pay directly through DVD for BCV.

To figure out how much of a deal this is, you would have to look at financing v. cash, whether or not points have been banked or borrowed, and what the use year is. The way I figure it , you are saving about $350.20 over purchasing 170 BCV points directly from DVD.

With BCV essentially going for $70 pp, I also do not think this is a great deal. If you really want VWL as opposed to BCV I suppose it might be an OK deal, depending on all other considerations mentioned in the post above.

Adding to the above response--if you need to finance through a creditor that does timeshare financing then it is highly likely that your resulting total price will be higher than going through Disney. Disney's rates are usually 2 or more percentage points below regular timeshare lending market rates and that difference in finance charges would result in your paying total dollars more for the resale than going through Disney.

Or your could finance on a home equity loan and pay 2 points less than Disney.

The VWL resale I saw had plenty of points for this year, points banked from last year (and of course, no points borrowed from next year) at $65 a point. It sold in a day.

Disney financing and Tammac are both the same rates. They both are offering rates of 11.5%. Disney is much easier to get approval through though!! :)

Our home equity loan is currently 4.75%. I would never think of financing any other way.

Of course, you DO have to own a home before you can take out that lovely home equity loan!!:D My home is still in my parents name until they leave this earth. And I am not wanting that to happen for a VERY long time!!

I did check out a personal loan rate today that varied between 10-12%. Kind of shocked me!!
