We are planning a 4 day stay at our home resort (VWL) for the first time in mid August. I booked a studio but failed to ask for any specific room loacation. Does anybody have any recommendations that I should ask for now? We would prefer a quiet room with a balcony we could sit outside and relax on in the evening. I am unsure what floor level or location would be best? Thx!

We just stayed at VWL (our home resort)in February. We had a fourth floor room with a view of the pool. Upper levels have the best view and a view of the pool also means that you may have a good chance for a view of the lake, depending on your location. The pool view would also mean not having to view the bus stop, road ways, etc... All of the upper floors have balconies. :)

Yes, backside and as high up as you can get. We were 3rd floor backside, but halfway down the building away from the pool. I would think overlooking the pool would be the best.

We just returned from a stay at a third floor studio with a pool view (rm 3505) and it was lovely. When we come with the kids however, I think we'll ask for a ground level room facing the pool so the kids and I can easily go in and out to the pool. We spent our pool time at the quiet pool/spa; the other pool was always crowded and lots of kids due to the slide/kiddie pool. We bought the lifetime refill mugs - a great idea for when you're out by the pool. It was breathtaking there in my opinion. I took many pictures and will post them soon. The rooms are really nice but do not photograph well. Best seen in person, of course! We bought cereal, milk and juice for our room, ordered the room service pizza (decent). I didn't realize Roaring Forks had the egg on a roll, etc. until after buying the cereal. Next time might just go that route for those early entry mornings. Any other questions, just ask!

Here we go...........

Hey HappyBirthdayCat!

Glad to hear you enjoyed your view. This means a lot to us since a lot of time spent looking out of room in mornings and evenings. We will be there May 5-May 11 in a dedicated 2BR and have requested an upper level w/pool view. Do you know how many 2BRs are on upper floors w/pool views? I have seen others photos from their balconies that have the lake in the background. This would be oue ideal view.

Thanks for any info.

Hey tntigger
I don't know how many but we were on the 4th floor with the lake view in the background. We checked in way early in the morning and they asked us what we wanted. Told them exactly what you are looking for. It wasn't ready until later but we came back to the perfect room. Nothing like sitting on the balcony with a fresh cup of coffee early in the A.M. with that view!

good luck
:)
