VWL question????

Is there a boat that goes to MK from WL? I think there is? Do most people use the buses to get to and from MK or take the boat to CR and then walk to MK???Thanks

There's a boat from WL to the MK. The bus ride is quicker than the boat ride if you don't have to wait too long for the bus to arrive, but the boat ride is more pleasant when the weather is nice.

YUP! We always took the boat. We have to take the bus everywhere else so we took the time to sit back and enjoy the view.

We too prefer the boat over the bus to MK. It is a pretty and pleasant ride.

We did both boats last year when going to MK from WL. The larger boats go directly to MK from WL but they are not as frequent as the smaller boats which go to CR, so one time we took the smaller boat over the CR and then walked to MK.

We also took the smaller boat to CR and then took the monorail to Epcot. It was not the quickest way to get to Epcot and maybe not the easiest if we had had small kids, but it was way more fun than the bus.

Can you describe how you walk from the CR to the MK? Looking at a satellite view of the CR it looks like there might be a path that parallels the monorail. Is that correct? We're staying at VWL in May and thought we might try boating to the CR and walking from there since we've never done that. Thanks!

As you exit the CR, just cross the street and there's a sidewalk on the right hand side that goes all the way to the MK. It's about a 10-15 minute walk (depending on your pace) from the front of the CR to the MK.

I take the boat to MK when I can- it's fun, pleasant and different. One time you may need to take the bus and not the boat is if you want to do a commando day at MK. We were going for early entry and found out that the busses start running earlier. The boats start running 1/2 hour before park opening.

In the new Vacation Magic it says that there is no longer a bus to MK from WL. It goes to the TTC now.

We always take the boat. Much more relaxing but not always the fastest if you are in a hurry.

The bus from WL to MK seems to be one of the most mysterious buses in the entire WDW.

I have been reading and posting here for the past year or so and I recall reading many different posts about the WL to MK bus...sometimes it runs from WL to MK...sometimes it doesn't...sometimes it stops at the TTC..sometimes it doesn't...sometimes it goes to CR...sometimes it doesn't...

Does anyone know what the story is with this bus ???

I posted the following the other day...

... They were running the buses to the TTC instead of the MK during construction. Before our trip in Feb the bus route was changed back to the MK. We took the bus a few times due to the convient location to the villas, direction of the boat route, cold weather and 10 year old that doesn't like boats.

I studied the boat routes before we left. There are two routes.

WL->MK->FW->WL: This is on the larger type of boat. (can you drive onto these Brogan?) This route reverse mid-afternoon to be WL->FW->MK->WL. So if you want to go to MK in the evening the bus may be better.

WL->CR->FW->WL and WL->FW->CR ->WL: There are two smaller boats that run in opposite directions. These boats have to be stepped into.
