VWL is wonderful and actually, any DVC member with points available can help you now because we're within the seven month booking window; you don't need specifically a VWL owner at this point in time.

Thanks for the info. I noticed several posts offering low prices on remainder points. Can points be bought from different sources and combined to equal a vacation week?

The member has to make the ressie for you. It might be difficult to coordinate but I suppose it's possible and then have the days linked together. Cheaper points often come with limited time usage windows, which then place you at risk for finding the size accommodation and DVC resort that you really want. If your reference to "remainder" points is about "reservation" points, then you should know that reservation points cannot be used for the DVC itself but must be used in WDW resorts, exchanges, etc.
