VWL or OKW less than 7 mtns out?

I am not a member yet although I was wondering if it is impossible to get a 1 br. less than 7 mths out? We would prefer VWL and probably early Oct. Am I dreaming or is this possible? I am hoping to get a resale by early May.

Also, with SSR prices going up and being that it's the only DVC resort available, could this affect resale prices? Could they slowly rise after April? What do you guys think?

Hmm... getting a closing isn't that hard, or slow. But one thing to keep in mind is you'll need a resale where the points are NOT used for this year already. Those are more rare, and some are even borrowed into next year already.

Definitely, I expect to see resale prices rise to somewhere just below the Disney value, as DVC will begin excercising their right of first refusal(ROFR) on the resales to a higher price to keep it closer to the current point value. Too huge a gap and they won't sell theirs. NOW is the time to buy in before SSR opens.

We booked a 1 BR @ VWL in for early April with 3 weeks notice, so it's definitely possible. Booked a 1 BR @ OKW in late August on 2 weeks notice.

VWL is small, but it will help if you can be flexible. The Food & Wine starts 10/1 this year, so early October might possibly be a little busier than in the past. Good luck! VWL is our home, and I'm homesick.

It is absolutely possible. We always book well inside of 7 months. I all depends on how flexible you are on dates. We even booked Christmas at OKW in August.

Its definately possible to get a 1B at or less than the 7mo window! I just did it!
Had a ressie at the 11mo window for a studio. At the 7mo window we changed that to a 1B (and actually moved our dates up a wk) We'll be there Oct 2-8

I was able to book OKW last summer just a couple of months before coming. I got a two bedroom & a studio. However, the other DVC resorts were all booked.

The only resort we've found impossible to get on shorter notice is BWV.
