I am curious...at the VWL, for the times we are going (7/22-7/27) a one bedroom is 204 points. Currently we are booked for a studio for 97 points. Why is the one bedroom so many points here? At the boardwalk, for the same time period, a one bedroom standard view is 168 points. Any info would be great. Is the VWL one bedroom worth the extra points?

VWL is a smaller resort meaning less villas available during peak seasons--that old free market thinking. Further, 1BRs are very popular at VWL and elsewhere, I'm sure. Throw in the boat to MK, and you have a good recipe for using extra points. Whether it's worth it depends on what you want from a resort. VWL is quiet, laid-back, and doesn't have a great pool (good, but not great). But, the serenity there compared to many other resorts, the theming, Artist Point, the boat to MK (and the buses with which I've never had an issue), the trails, and the general vibe of VWL make it my favorite resort. Those very traits, however, might not appeal to you. Hope this helped! ;)

The BWV standard view is a real bargain and being able to book one is often a perk of owning there. You could be lucky and get one at 7 months. I love VWL, but have yet to stay in a 1 bedroom there because of the point cost. When we stay at VWL,(and we often do) we've book studios or dedicated 2 bedrooms, depending on who will be with us for the visit. We have 2 studios booked there for our December visit with friends.

Actually it's just that BWV std view is fewer points than most (as Bobbi said). You could say the same thing about BCV (202) and BWV preferred is 204 as well.

AKV valu 1BR is 142-so why is BWV so high?

I am really glad you pointed this out as I was thinking the same thing about the 1 bedroom at VWL! I was planning to stay in a studio but decided to switch to a one bedroom and I thought wow! That is a lot of points. Comparing that to a standard at BW (which I have stayed in and was great) it doesn't seem fair! Now I am really torn! If you think about the difference in points and then if you think of points being worth around $15 (according to what DVC is renting them for now!) that is a difference of like $750 for the same time period! I love VWL and bought there for that reason and am so excited for my first trip home next Feb. but wow! We could save a lot of points if I could switch. Now I am having the whole should I switch internal conflict! That is a lot of points to save when you are new to DVC and only get 100 each year............decisions!!

Now when I look closer it is actually cheaper to book 2 studios then a 1 bedroom! That doesn't seem right somehow!

2 studios at OKW that week are fewer points than a 1 BR as well.

Here is the breakdown as well

VWL 2 studios 194...1BR 204
BCV 2 Studios 204...1BR 202
SSR 2 Studios 186...1BR 182
OKW 2 Studios 164..1BR 168
AKV 2 Studios 144..1BR 142
BLT 2 Studios 206...1BR 204

BWV 2 Studios 170..1BR 168

$750? An AKV V 1BR will save you another $390 over the BWV STD 1BR (using your $15 analogy).

VWL studio is 12 more points than a BWV STD studio. $180
VWL 1BR is 36 more points than a BWV 1BR STD. $540

A BWV STD studio is 13 more points than a AVK V studio. $195
A BWV STD 1 BR is 26 more points than a AKV V 1BR. $390

Do not compare apples to oranges for your $750 cost example. The $15 per point Disney 24 point buy is a one time cost. The 50 extra point cost ($750) your refer to is spread out over the life of your contract, hence the more you use it, the cheaper per visit it becomes.

Regarding 'switch internal conflict', that is easily resolved by buying into another resort, and having more points and options!!

In the end, just enjoy the journey!
