VWL May 2009

No Disney World this year! Sigh! But, next year my family me(40), Wife(36), MIL(62), DS(4), DD(2) AND DS(1) are planning to try VWL in the beginning of May 2009. Will it be hard for us to get a 2 bedroom at the 7 month mark? Is there anything else we should know about VWL?

I'll think you'll be OK, fine really. Be sure to ask for a dedicated 2 bedroom if you want the 2Q's in the second bedroom. There would also be lock-offs, if that's what you want, the Q and the sofa bed with the kitchenette, and at 7 months you should get either.

This year we were going to BWV for the WDW part of our trip, but a December trip for DH and me at VWL just changed my mind. So, it was at 6 months, and I called and was able to get a dedicated 2 bedroom for June at VWL. I would call right at 7 months.

Best wishes. VWL is my absolute favorite DVC resort. Be sure to check the calendar of activites when you check in. There may be things you really want to do with your children, and so, know what's available. So many times, I forget to check.

You might want to try out Whispering Canyon Cafe.

Also, go down to the dock around 9:35 pm to view the Electrical Water Pageant. Check with the front desk to verify the times.

Take the boat to the MK. It's an attraction in and of itself.

You can rent a boat or a bike if you wish.

Try the 'Wonders of the Lodge' tour if you wish.

Some of these activities may not be in the cards as you have very little ones.
