VWL jacuzzi broken - 90 points refunded

My family and I stayed at the Villa's of Wilderness Lodge for Thanksgiving - Nov 19-26th. We had a GREAT stay except for the jacuzzi outside by the DVC pool was not working the entire stay - all 8 days it was closed.

For once, I dropped member services a email complaining about the out of service jacuzzi. MS called and apologized and stated that they would call the resort manager about the situation - MS stated that they did not know about the jacuzzi being down for so long.

A gentlemen (forgot name) call and identified himself as the WL manager and apologized about the jacuzzi being out of service. I stated that is was a big deal to me because of back surgery I generally spend a lot of time in the jacuzzi because of the toll all of the walking in the parks take on my back.

Without me requesting any sort of compensation, he offered to refund two nights of points to compensate me for the jacuzzi closure.

I feel this was EXTREMELY generous. I haven't seen the points in my account yet, but it has only been two days. Even if I don't get the points, it was refreshing to see a very positive attitude towards listening to members complaints.

It seems like DVC is taking comments on service very seriously - or at least in this case.
 
That outside jacuzzi is a must do for me, too! I love the surrounding, heck I love everything about VWL! :goodvibesLooking foward to arriving on Friday and here's hoping it's fixed!

Shoot, that hot tub is never hot and seldom works. We all need points returned for that.

OR they need to finally fix that stupid thing.

Hmmm - guess I should have mentioned the problem from when we were there in mid-Nov. The temp was only slightly above the pool and I picked parts up off the bottom. :rolleyes:

YES!

That is why I am so surprised the manager offered to refund the points.

I do like the jacuzzi outside for the ambiance. Just not the same in the room.

I don't find that to be true. I've enjoyed the VWL hot tub many times!
 
During several of our stays at VWL over the years, we've found the outside hot tub at the Villas to be out of service. The two near the main pool are usually fine, however. I've overheard several people in the past also commenting as they were walking past the quiet pool area about the fact that the "hot tub is down again".
 
We love that jacuzzi!! Thanks for reporting the problem. We need it working for our March trip!!

This is unbelievably generous. I never asked for the points, but I will take them and run.:cool1:

We leave for VWL Thursday, and I was planning my typical 6:30 AM plunge into the Hot Tub on Friday.

I will pray for the Hot Tub to be cured, or accept the miracle of calm acceptance. I need one or the other!

I'm another one that uses it in the early mornings! It will be a longer walk from the other hot tubs. I really hope that it will have been fixed!
 
ACk! :scared1: We just arrived at VWL late last night. We aren't early morning hot tub users, but we do like to soak at the end of a long day to get the kinks out of very sore joints. I haven't walked over to the tub yet to see if it is working but if it isn't, the manager will be getting daily requests from me to know exactly when it will be fixed! I'll check it out later today.

That's good and I agree, that was very generous of them.

I recently had points returned for one night at BLT in a one bedroom for a host of problems and issues, and was completely floored that they made the offer, but that was talking to MS, not the resort manager.

We got points returned once also, our villa was dirty and the dishwasher was broken and the maid had put all the dishes in the closet without checking if the stains were gone, I had to re wash every plate etc.

Complained and got points back, if no one complained the place would fall apart.

I'm just thinking of phoning up about our DC last year on the wonder also, couldn't berth at CC so missed it and the weather so bad not allowed upstairs on deck.
Someone mentioned they got credit for not getting to CC so I need to find things out. :surfweb:

I'm happy to report that the hot tub is just fine at VWL. DH and I used it tonight. It is HOT enough for me, that's for sure. I eventually stood up and walked around because my bottom can stand the heat better than my top.
Maybe after giving the OP 90 points back they finally decided to fix it? I don't know. I'm just glad that it is working!
