VWL in New York?

Anyone hear about when DVC will be cleared to sell VWL in New York? I'd like to do a 70 point add-on before the price increase. I've called my guide twice with this question, but he does not return my calls. (I hate voice mail)

I've used email to contact MS for a few things and always get an answer in a day or two. They are very helpful and quick.

Hi, your neighbor here again (Clifton park). My guide put me on a list of people she was going to call when WLV are available to NYers. I have not yet received a call. When I do, I will post a message. Perhaps if you ever do receive a call back, your guide (or new one!) can do the same. Although if you haven't heard by mid-May I'd definitely call again.

Unfortunately, from the response I received when I first talked to her, it sounds like they are totally in the dark as to the approval date until it occurs.

But hey, I've been seeing Southwest Airline roundtrip airfare ads from Albany to Orlando for like $100... I know, a bit much to save $210. But if youbought 150 points....

I too have waited to buy into VWL and have waited from Long Island for the 'signal".My guide assures me it will be "soon" but he hasn't been able to be specific understandably. So, not needing much of an excuse to go down anyway, and somewhat fearful that the place will be sold out or the price per point will go up without notice, I am heading down in two weeks to buy in. My guide will advise me if NY gives permission before that so that I may not have to come down, but for now I'm trying to be as proactive as possible.

Thanks Jeff & Rich. That's all I wanted to do, get my name on a "to call" list when it was approved. I'll watch for posts from you two. When I see it's approved, I'll just call and ask for an availible guide to start this. I do not want to rely on the fellow calling me back.

I talked to my guide this past Thursday--she said MAYBE we can buy at the end of June. I, too, am on the list of NY'ers to call.

Just to add a little input to this thread. You don't need to go to WDW to buy into DVC. You can buy VWL at Disney's Hilton Head resort. And it doesn't matter what state you are from when buying on-site. Maybe a little weekend drive to Hilton Head would be worth saving some money before the price increase.

To avoid kicking oursevles in the pants again....DH and I flew down in March to purchase VWL (we went down in Nov. on vaca and were inches from purchasing at BW, but didn't)
It was an expense to do the two nights but we had a great time, went ALONE, rode the rides we wanted to and joined on the spot. (Just waiting for final closing, supposed to be today!!) We rented points and stayed at VWL and it was wonderful. Hopefully we'll hear today....
