VWL Dec waitlist in the past

Have you had any luck getting the VWL in the past not waitlisting day-by-day? We are currently booked at BCV 1 BR for Dec. 2nd-8th. We are waitlisted for a 1 BR at VWL (since day of the 7 month window). I didn't do the day-by-day waitlist because we don't wish to move halfway between our stay if the nights don't come through. Since we are just under 6 months out I'm hoping we will be able to get the whole week. It seems like most people getting their waitlist requests are doing it day-by-day. This seems like such a hassle.

If it doesn't come through we'll be fine with BCV but we were hoping to try out VWL. Can anybody offer any encouragement?

when I got it - it was day by day wait list and they made the change and told me about it afterwards....

Do you have enough points to keep the Beach Club reservation as well as take any days that came through on the day by day waitlist? That way if your 1st three nights and your last 2 came through and the one in the middle didn't you could cancel all the nights that came through about a month before you go. That way you will always have a reservation to fall back on as well as a better chance at getting VWL. Just a thought.
