Here's the deal. Just finished booking a 2 br at the VWL. MS rep asked if we wanted a dedicated or a lock-off unit as both were available. Is there any advantage to booking one over the other? Besides the door to the hall off the studio, what are the differences? We'd love to avoid the dreaded dumpster view and looking at the VWL map it appears that none of the lock-off units would have a real dumpster view..................so I said lock-off. DW wants a dedicated, but the map shows that there are 6 dedicated units with the dreaded dumpster view. Any thoughts? Thanks.

We always try and get a dedicated since we have 3 small kids and do not want them leaving the room without us.

As far as the view, you can always jot down the room numbers you think are near the dumpster. At check-in when you get the room number, compare it to your list before leaving the desk.

Good luck.

What is the bed configuration in the second bedroom of a VWL dedicated unit? Do they have two queens or the queen/sleeper sofa combo?

All of the dedicated two bedrooms at VWL have two queen beds in the 2nd bedroom. The lockoffs are basically a one bedroom and a studio connected together, so there would be two doors to the hallway with a lockoff.

The lockoff will have the kitchenette in the 2nd bedroom, dedicated will not. If it's young kids in the 2nd bedroom, I would go for dedicated. If it's another family, you may want to do lockoff.
