I am thinking of going for our spring break in 2009 with friends. My original idea was to get a 1bd for 350 points and a studio for 181 points - then I realized a two bedroom is only 462 points - that saves 69 points. Now I don't really want to share a room but some of the 2 bds are 1bd+studio. Can I request this? Can I get seperate keys for the studio side? That way they would not disturb us or we them and we can keep the door in between open and closed as we choose.

You need to request a lock off. If you were going to the BWV, all the two bedrooms are lockoffs. But you will get the same key to both doors. And they can enter or exit through the studio door - if you have a lock off.

You will have all the privacy that you want. You will just share the same key. Everyone will have a key. When we were on the studio side of a lock-off, we did not hear the people next door at all. I would save the points.

One thought I had...

The only other down side is that you probably can only put one CC on the room (2 bedroom villa) so if both parties charged to the room you would have to sort it out at the end. If one party wanted to charge and not allow the other to do so, you could have their room keys to have 'no charging privileges'.

I have no experience with this so maybe someone can confirm.

Can I only put one creditcard down? Or can I put some keys with one and some with another card?

If you have a 2 bedroom lock off unit, you will only be allowed one credit card. I'm not so sure it's worth the extra points to book a 1 bedroom and studio seperately for that reason though. We find it is no big deal to carry a credit card along with a room key. We usually put key, credit card, and AP all in the AP passholder together. It takes no real extra space. It's no big deal to use a credit card any more than it is to use a KTTW card.

If I remember correctly you can only put one CC down. But, if you choose you can go down to the check in desk on the day of check out and separate the charges and have them put on 2 different cards. We have found that it is just easier to use one card and have the other party pay us directly or we pay them depending on whose card we use. Either way it is certainly doable.

Have a great trip!:goodvibes

But if you reach the $1500 limit during your stay, they will go ahead and charge your card. Then you won't be able to separate those charges. You need to get them separated before they charge your card which they usually do the morning you check out. You need to get them separated the day before.

I like bobbiwoz' suggestion.

When we travel as a large group, I use my Charge Card on the room key, but my married children use their personal charge cards for their personal purchases. It is no problem at all for them to carry a card to the parks in their fanny pack.
