What would you do? We have enough points for three weeknights at the VWL in a 1BR. Would you do a cash add on to stay in that 1BR for 4 more nights or would you switch resorts and try something new -- say, GF Lagoon View?

BTW -- Our daughter will be 1 YO by then.

So far, we've stayed at Swan, Dolphin, SSR, BWV, BCV and WL.

What would you do?

It all depends on your space needs. What matters more to you, ambience or space? VWL will provide much more in-room space to spread out. GF is far superior relating to convenience to MK/monorail, and nothing at VWL will compare view-wise to most GF lagoon view rooms.

Finally, theming. You cant get much different than GF and VWL. One is rustic/western lodge, the other posh/victorian. Pick the one you like more.

Personally, its a tough call with a 1yo baby. Part of me say the 1bed will let you put let the baby rest while you relax in the living room. The other half says that the pure magic of GF surroundings/location cant be beaten.

How important is the kitchen, laundry and jacuzzi to you...since you will be giving those things up to stay at any of the hotels. If you feel like they would be really nice with the baby I would either do a cash add on or rent more DVC points from someone and stay there.

If you don't mind packing up and moving and won't be using the kitchen, frig, washer, jacuzzi much you might prefer the luxury of the GF, it is lovely there. Personally I love the GF but with a baby I would probably choose the villa, but that's just me!!

Very good thoughts everyone.

This past September we stayed in a 1BR at the BWV and definitely took advantage of things like the seperation of living room/bedroom -- DD took a nap while DH and I hung out watching TV/movies. The kitchen and washer/dryer were indispensable in so many aspects. So perhaps that helps us make the decision. Having a little one, we'd probably be much happier staying in the villa.

I've always wanted to stay at the GF. I think we'll wait until DH and I take a solo trip in the future -- maybe a wedding anniversary vacation.

THANKS for helping me hash this out!
