VV question

Hi! Staying at Vistana Villages in early June on an RCI exchange for a 2 bedroom. Over the past few months, I've read every post for VV and I remember reading somewhere that buildings 1, 2 and 3 are "reserved" for owners and RCI guests/exchanges. Am I remembering correctly? We will be checking in around 8pm and if we could possibly be in building 10 (which is the farthest), I want to be able to call ahead to try to request a different building.
Additionally, has anyone ever ended up with a condo that had a strong odor of smoke? I know that they are unable to distinguish between smoking and non-smoking. Just kind of curious what anyone may have done to get a non-smoking situation.

Hi there -

I stayed at the V.V. in a 2 bedroom in April. We had an incredible vacation, this place is fantastic. I too tried to request bldgs 1,2 or 3 and was told since it was so full, owners took priority of these.

We ended up in Bldg 8, 3rd floor overlooking the pond with the ducks and fountain and the volleyball court, basketball court and the lobby on the opposite side. To our right from our balcony would be International Drive, I believe those are #9 and #10 - the front bedroom would face the road, but living area and master bedroom would have the same view I described.

In my opinion, I was perfectly satisfied with Bldg 8 we did not hear any road noise at all and glad we were put there. The reason being is that 1,2 & 3 are right over the pool and play area and can get extremely noisy. The pool is open until 12:30 am daily and people do use it up until that time (including us one night). It is a short walk over the foot bridge to the pool, lobby, etc. The grounds are just beautiful.

I would not want bldg 10 myself. Also - did not detect any smoke odor whatsoever, our villa was extremely clean smelling.
