Had a call from CO to tell me this flight is now leaving at 1040 instead of 1115, expect its because it's a new airbus, arrival time is the same.

Might be a coincidence but the clocks go back in the UK on the 28th October and the flight time seems to change on the 29th for VS27. There again the later flight at 1.00 VS15, doesn't seem to have changed it's departure time.

As an added note, in the USA the clocks go back on the 4th November, so doesn't that mean you will gain an hour in the UK on the 28th and then again on the 4th November when you're in the USA?

That's what I thought at first, but I checked and VS27 on Oct 31st is still scheduled at 11:15 and it's a 747

For that in-between period (end BST - end EDT) A330s are scheduled at 10:40 and 747s at 11:15

It's true that the Airbus is a tad slower than the 747 at cruise speed.
It's marginal (a few mph) on a short distance, but for a TATL it can mean 20 or more minutes.

Well, at least you get to ride a much newer plane (and IMHO a better plane to fly on, except for that bubble we all got to love at some point)
