I am looking to book a room for my wife and I (romantic weekend getaway) at VRB for April. I've never been there and can't figure out the difference between an Inn Room and a studio. I am assuming that the studio is the standard studio we see at other resorts. What is an Inn room? What is the advantage of one over the other? Recommendations? Thanks for your help.

If you do a search I think a thread regarding this issue was posted several months ago but I will weigh in with IMHO.....

If it is just you and your wife go for the Inn Room Ocean view. The views are spectacular plus you are close to restaurants and Green Cabin Room (personal fav). You have the same microwave, frig etc as the Studio but with better views.

The Inn room and studio are similar in size and layout. The Inn rooms are in the main building (the inn). The studios are in the smaller villa buildings.

If you wan't a view of the ocean then choose an inn room and arrive early if you can to ask for an ocean facing room. It is possible to get an inn room that qualifies as an ocean view, but faces north or south and really has an off to the side view.

I loved staying in the Inn rooms overlooking ocean.

Last June we had an inn room with an ocean view. We were on the top floor facing north. It was plesant to sit outside and see the ocean. Myy parents had a room that was facing the ocean. I liked their view better.

The main building at VB is the Inn building. It has Garden View(parking lot/road) and Ocean View Inn Rooms. The Inn rooms have 2 queen beds and a kitchenette similar to the studio. There are also a couple rooms with a king bed instead of the 2 queens. The ocean view rooms could face the East (ocean), south (pool) or north. Some of the Inn rooms connect.

I have not been in a studio but they are in the 3 other 'U' shaped buildings. They may or may not have an ocean view(most likely not). There is foliage and the beach cottages that may be in the way. The studios, like most of the DVC resorts, have a queen and pull out sofa and kitchenette.

I would choose the OVIR as well. Love that ocean view!

Go for the Ocean facing Inn room for sure. We stayed in an Inn room in 2005 and loved it.

Definately an ocean view inn room. When you make your ressies it wouldn't hurt to let them know you are planning this trip as a romantic getaway and would like a true ocean view and not one of those pool "ocean" views.
