I spoke with FTW today because we wanted to have our intimate VR at Disney next June. We will be having 13 guests and I asked about having a dinner and dessert party. The wedding coordinator I spoke with told me that with intimates there are no add-ons (like dinner or dessert party) and that if we wanted anything like that we would have to book custom. I asked if I could book one of the restaurants separately from the IVR (Citrico's) and an Illuminations dessert party she said no that WDW dine would refer me back to her since it is a VR and then we would have to go custom. Since we have only 13 people I really do not want to do a custom wedding. Has anyone else done an intimate VR (or wedding) with guests from out of town? Are there other places to go on-site that we could stay dressed up but have a private room? I was told with intimate we have to book a dessert party separate and they will not allow us to be dressed up (which I believe I read here also), but we wanted to have pics taken during the fireworks. I saw some pics on here that looked beautiful and was hoping to do similar pics. Is it worth it to go custom (since its really expensive for the few amount of people) or should I look elsewhere? We are also looking at the Swan, but I really wanted to do it at the WP. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

On a side note, the consultant I spoke with said Disney has in the works an inbetween package that they may start in mid-2005 which allows more people and more diversion in the package. Unfortunately, we plan on our VR in mid-2005 so that will not work for us. Good news for others tho!

I have heard of plenty of couples who have gone outside of the intimate package to have a dinner, dessert party, whatever after their ceremony. You will have to book everything outside of the VR package yourself, and NO, the people who run the restaurants will not direct you back to FTW simply because you are having a vow renewal before your dinner.

Whomever you spoke to at FTW sounded very unhelpful. This is presicely why I am leaning more toward the Swan in planning our VR...they make no distinction between intimate or custom.

If you really want the WP, book the intimate package and do the other legwork (ie priority seating and such) on your own directly with whomever provides that service.

Good luck!

We are having an intimate wedding and our coordinator Maxine booked our Dinner afterwards at 1900 Fare ( we are not having a private room, but I know there were several resort rest. w/ that options) and she also sent me all the information on an Epcot dessert party and I was told if we had one I could wear my dress. Have you actually booked your VR? After you book it they will assign you an EM who has more info. Good luck.

Thanks so much for the help! I don't want to book until I'm sure we can do the VR we want, but it seems the coordinator I spoke with, Donna I think, was telling me no I could only do what is stated in the packet. Its great to hear someone else was able to do more outside the box. Makes me hopeful.

I'm sure the person you were speaking to was telling you what was available as part of your package. Anyone can make a group reservation at any resaurant on property, you simply have to contact the manager of that particualr restaurant.
