Vow Renewal?

We just booked a trip from May 1st to May 11th. It will be our 15th wedding anniversary and I thought I would ask about vow renewals.

It would be something simple and it does not need to be anywhere fancy. It would just be the two of us and our five yo daughter. We would dress up, I would have a bouquet and so would our daughter. A few pictures taken, a small cake and a bottle of champagne with the MM flutes at a nice restaurant. That is it.

Can this be done or do they expect you to spend thousands and thousands?

If you do it at Disney, that is an Escape Vow Renewal and prices for 2009 are $4500. Gives you a ceremomy at Sea Breeze Point at Boardwalk, Sunset Point at Polynesian, Sunrise Terrace at Wilderness Lodge, or Yacht Club Gazebo. Cake and champagne ceremony will follow the ceremony. A brides bouquet and grooms boutineer is included. If you want a meal at a restaurant following, that is an additional cost.

I looked into something small for a vow renewel and as romantic as I am, with the economy I just can't squeeze it in. : )

My wife and I will be married 10 years next July. I convinced her to go to DW with the kids for our anniversary. What she doesn't know is that I have gotten with a local jeweler to make an anniversary band that looks like Mickey. I plan on all of us having a late dinner at Cal Grill with the fireworks and propose all over again, with the kids on hand. I plan on the glass slipper and pillow being there also

We wanted to have a simple VR too; we checked into the Swan; the site fee alone was $1600; that's doing our own florals, bringing our own officiant, and IPOD music. We decided to have our VR at home, and then go to DW with our kids as a "Disneymoon".

i saw that someone (lisa??) posted she got married at one of the resorts with her own minister.
I really don't see the big thing if you had a florist deliver 2 bouquets to your room, and you walked down to a nice spot and exchanged some vows.

We could go on a cruise for $4000, lol. My first wedding was a big Catholic affair (my ex is Catholic), so I do not feel the need to go all out and spend tens of thousands of dollars or even $4000. We could renew our vows on board the cruise ship and it is affordable, however, our daughter is special needs and she has potty issues (she had reconstructive bowel surgery this summer and they found Hirschsprung's Disease while operating), my understanding is that they will not allow children not potty trained to participate in the kid activities on board...

Thanks for the advice, I think we will just stick to romantic dinners and champagne, roses and chocolate dipped strawberries in the room.

Sarg, what you planned sounds so romantic, I hope you have many more romantic anniversaries.

i think if your child has special needs, there is probably a different set of rules.
Again..I think if you did something at WDW, you could do it without the big DFTW package

My DH and I will be celebrating our 20th anniversary next year. Our land/sea vacation is booked and the cost of a Disney VR was just too much. So we plan on ordering a cake and champagne for our first night at the Poly and have our our private VR. We'll dress as dinner at Narcoossees will follow. DH purchased beautiful crystal M&M flutes from the Arribas Bros, and are having new wedding bands made.(DH destroyed his at work yeras ago). We'll write our own vows and I'm even creating our own VR certficate to commmemorate the special evening. Our teenage DD with be with us to officiate and say a few words of her own. A simple long stem white rose will do for my bouquet (DH gave one to me on my birthday before our first date )For me this is all I need and the fact that it was DH's idea makes it even more special.
