HI, MY HUSBANDS ANNIVERSARY GIFT TO ME THIS YEAR, WAS TELLING ME THAT HE WANTS TO RENEW OUR VOWS NEXT YEAR WITH A DISNEY CEREMONY!!! THE BEST SURPRISE EVER!!

WE JUST WANT TO DO THE SMALL CEREMONY LESS THAN 10 GUESTS. I TRIED POSTING ON THE WEDDING BOARDS AND OF COURSE MOST HAVEN'T MADE IT TO THAT PART YET!!

SO, HAS ANYONE DONE THIS AT DISNEY? I LOOKED AT THEIR WEBSITE AND IT IS KIND OF CONFUSING TO ME. ESPEICALLY WHEN IT COMES TO HOW MANY NIGHTS OF ROOMS YOU NEED TO BOOK....I DID SEND FOR THE VIDEO, BUT AS FOR AS I CAN TELL ITS FOR THE WEDDING-NOT RENEWAL.

MOST OF ALL I AM JUST INTERESTED IN HEARING ABOUT OTHER VOW RENEWALS, AND ABOUT HOW MUCH YOU PAID. WAS IT MORE THAN YOU EXPECTED?

THANKS SO MUCH,
JULIE

Hi, Julie! I did a vow renewal at Disney in 1998. It was wonderful! I don't know how much I can remember about the details anymore though.

I know that I had several places to choose to have the ceremony. I chose the gazebo at the the Yacht Club.

I was assigned a wedding coordinator who helped me with all of the details. She really helped me to personalize everything. There were lists of options that I could choose between for the bouquet, cake, musical instrument played, etc.

They also gave me lists of recommended people to perform the ceremony, photograph and videograph, etc. I was responsible for calling them myself and "interviewing" them before I selected one.

We had a limo to take us to the ceremony. This was included in the package. It was for a set amount of time. It picked us up from our resort and took us to the ceremony and then took all of us from the ceremony to the reception dinner.

Dinner was not part of the package, but the planner helped me choose a location (I chose the private room at Citricos) and she made all of the arrangements. We then paid for Lincoln Town Cars to return us from the Grand Floridian to the Wilderness Lodge.

I was thrilled with the whole thing. Let me know if you have any more questions!

Congrads!!! My husband and I were married at the Yacht club gazebo in 1996. I loved it. It was small and simple and wonderful. We had a great lady who helped us plan it all over the phone and through direct mail. This was before we owned a computer. I bet you can do it all through email now. I would also be interested in a renewal but like you found the website to be horrid. I gave up. We spent 8 nights at the Beach Club, tickets to the park, wedding + cake, officiant, violinist, flowers, and two dinners for ---- Your not going to believe this :cool1: 2300.00 My have the prices changed. I would do it all over again for that price. I believe the ship has sailed on that. By the way, on every trip since our marriage my husband always takes me back and plants a great kiss on me in the gazebo. Our next trip in July will be with our two daughters. See what Mickey did to us!!

PS On my way to my wedding a little girl stopped me and asked if I was a princess. WOW, I haven't forgotten her to this day. Also, the guests in their rooms came out onto their balconies and cheered for us so I think it is the best place at Disney for a wedding.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but arent the vow renewals the same price as the weddings?

I don't know if they're the same price as weddings, but from what I was able to get from the not-so-user-friendly site, they start out around $3000, which is too much for me. DH and I wanted to renew our vows on our 10th anniv trip next year, but $3000 for just the two of us, no guests???? No way.

The prices are stuctured the same. Customs start at one price and intimates at another depending on time of day, day chosen, site, and extras.

We were going to renew our vows through Disney but the costs were too high. We used Gifts of a Lifetime instead and was able to do it next to the wishing well @ MK for a very reasonable price.

I forgot all about that company!! Thats a great idea! :sunny:

What was it that you had GOAL do for you? Did you invite family and friends too?

:thumbsup2 if you check out the wedding boards you might have to go back a few pages their are some people planning vow renewels with details and some links to other places to have a vow renewal...a leiu garden??? and a chapel but i don't recall the name......3,000+ the price of your vacation is a little much for us. were having our 20 th anniversary this fall, and decided just to be happy with the trip and maybe do something at home or just us and dd12.......a nice dinner, etc. :cloud9: :woohoo: :surfweb:

We had a beautiful vow renewal almost 5 years ago with 36 guests. They do charge the same as a custom wedding which is only fair considering every detail was the same. It was beautiful and to us perfect. Have a great time and enjoy your renewal.

In Disney's mind, a vow renewal is IDENTICAL to a wedding. The only difference is the license issue (you either provide one or you get one).

For an intimate vow renewal, the prices start at about $2500 ($3500 if you want to do your renewal at the Wedding Pavilion). That price includes floral, photography, music, cake & champagne reception, coordinator, and the "location" fee. You provide your rooms (at least 4 nights in any Disney owned and operated resort) and park tickets.

There is nothing like renewing your vows at Disney, and there are MANY ladies (and a few men) on the Wedding Board who have either done this or are planning it. It is a much "slower" board than many others, but you can still discuss your ideas with "first time brides" since (as already mentioned) a vow renewal is the same as a wedding.

There are other "off-site" locations. The Swan and Dolphin do their own weddings/renewals. You can also check out orlandoweddings.com for other ideas.

I would be VERY careful about planning an in-park wedding without using Disney Fairy Tale Weddings department. They are VERY protective of their "copyright"...in park weddings are NOT permitted (without the proper authorizations, and a $70,000 minimum) and Disney can remove you from the park. I understand it has been done, but I just wanted you to know the possible consequences if you get caught.

GOAL put together a scavenger hunt using clues my husband and them put together using personal info and tying it to rides in the MK mainly thru Fantasyland. They then gave the clues to strangers while they hid and a friend videotaped (unbeknowenst to me). The strangers then gave clues to me - and everytime I came off a ride a new person was there with a new clue. I then wound up at the wishing well with my husband, friend GOAL representative. They performed the ceremony with small gifts to us. It was all very nice. There were toasting glasses and champagne in the room with flowers when we got back. Loved it!
