I am so excited! DH and I are going to renew our vows on our 20th anniversary at WDW!! We never had a big wedding. We were married very young me-19 and dh-24). We did not have much money so we went to Vegas. It definitely was not my fairy tale wedding. I have always wished we would have done a big wedding so now is my chance. I would love any suggestions, tips, etc. It will be the intimate with just our 3 children there. I need help deciding on the location. It will be October 8, 2008. What location would be good? How is the weather? Time of day, etc.

Thanks for any suggestions. :)

Just wanted to say congratulations. We were only married on 1st march and already I can't wait for my 5 year vow renewal!!!

OP - CONGRATS!

Ok I have some stupid questions for both of you. Janine - will you invite people to your vow renewal in 5 years?

And do either of you know how much a vow renewal costs for about 20 people to attend? I want to do this for our ten yea anniversary in 4 years. We wanted to get married at WDW but let people talk us out of it. So I want the vow renewal. And do you buy a new dress for this or wear something simple? I have no clue!

Janine-Thanks!

Zalansky-I'm not sure what it would cost for 20 people as we are only doing ourselves plus our 3 children. I know they start at around $2400 and it goes up from there. You can go to the Disney Fairy Tale Wedding website and price it all out. As far as what to wear--I am going all out. I never had the nice wedding dress so that is what I plan on wearing. DH will wear a tux.

Congratulations! We are getting married on November 1st at Disney's Wedding Pavilion, it is stunning and so many great photo opportunities. The outdoor locations are also stunning but I would be worried if it rained so at least this way I get a stunning location and don’t have to worry about the afternoon showers. Don’t worry yourself about the rain though; they will move you to one of the ballrooms if this happens. We are getting married at 2pm, which gives me plenty of time to get ready and enjoy breakfast with my family. We have two children and are planning to have dinner at 1900 Park Fare - not gourmet but great fun and the boys will enjoy it!
Any questions - feel free to ask :thumbsup2

dznymom3 - Thanks for the info! I checked out the site and I think that is very reasonable for an intimate renewal. I am sure the cost may rise in the next few years but at least I have something to go on. I am glad you are going all out! :cloud9:

we're having a vow renewal in dec '07 (I want to be a 'fairytale princess' for my 40th b'day). We're having it based on the Intimate wedding at the pavilion and having Cinderella's glass coach and Mickey and Minnie at the cake / champage reception. There will be less than 10 of us all together, so we'll just have dinner at 1900 Park Fare at GF after a 2pm ceremony. I'm currently dieting to fit in my original wedding dress (11 years old) as I love the 'fairytale' style of it. Personally, I'd say do whatever both of you want to and let everyone else fit around your plans. Whatever you decide on, have a great day!

Dee - I am so happy to see you want to wear your original wedding dress! If we do this, I want to do the same thing. I love my dress though I think after 2 kids it will take a bit of dieting as well, but well worth it. And of course the sentimental value is great!

My original dress was a very simple, tea-length dress. I was hoping for something a bit more elegant this time.

Dee, I too would love to do something very similar to what you have planned. That is my dream-the Cinderella coach and all! I can't wait!!! We will definitely have to touch base after yours and you can let me know what you thought about everything.

Dznymom3, congratulations! My husband and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary with a Fairy Tale Weddings vow renewal and we couldn’t have been more pleased with how it turned out. I wrote about the planning of it here on the Dis: click here.

The only suggestions I have for you are to follow your heart and plan exactly the sort of event that you want. As your planning moves forward that should become very clear. Listen to your heart.

Again, congratulations!

Janet-Thanks for the encouragement. :) Reading your Vow Renewal Report a few days ago really inspired me to do the same. I truly loved reading all about your planning, etc. I can't wait for our big day!! :goodvibes
