Vow Renewal/Question about April 2012

Hello everyone!

We are thinking of doing a VR at Disney World in April 2012. Our actual anniversary is April 9th, so we are wanting to go around that time. However, we just looked at the calendar and saw that Easter will be on April 8th (2012)

We were wondering, should we go BEFORE Easter or AFTER Easter? Or are both of those weeks crowded?

We plan on going for 4 nights/5 days (if that matters or helps??)

The weekends before and after Easter will both be very crowded. Do you subscribe to Touring Plans? They have a crowd calendar that could be useful for you in picking a date.

We had our VR on April 8th 2009, it was a Wednesday and Easter was the following weekend. We had a wonderful time but the parks were VERY crowded, MK closed for capacity at least a couple of days that week. We just made sure we were at the parks early and utilised Fastpass.

I would go after. I was playing around with April dates on the WDW site the other day and it looks like rates go back down to "regular" from holiday on April 15th so we're thinking of going around then to save some money. Have fun planning!

You're better off going very early March or late April. Early March will be cooler.

That said if you can handle crowds and want to do your VR on your anniversary go for it! If you book your dining reservations early and head to the parks first thing with a plan of what you want to do, you'll be fine : )

We planned our date to avoid the Easter crowds so we chose April 21, 2012. It's back to regular season and far enough away that I think we will miss the Easter folks.

My personal opinion is to look up the blackout dates and then avoid them like the plague. They have the biggest crowds, highest room rates, etc.
