Ok ladies, I need some creative brains to help me out!

Dh and I are planning to have an escape vow renewal on April 7, 2011 for our 10th anniversary :yay: We never had an actual wedding, we just decided to go to Las Vegas and elope! The vow renewal was actually dh's idea!!

I know it's still about a year away but I am totally into this whole planning thing and I need some help... I am trying to figure out how to word the invites ( yes I am getting way ahead of myself... but I'm a planner) and I'm not really crazy about the generic ones I've seen online, they just arent us. I'm hoping that there are some creative thinkers out there that can give me some ideas!

TIA

we used the standard DCL script..but I liked it ..you could tweak it if you wanted

ETA - maybe if I READ...sorry..I thought you were looking for vows..I am an idiot that can't read!

Here is ours:

It reads:
In a magical place
where wishes are granted and dreams come true

We, Cam & Howard,
will renew the vows we made to each other
on December 22, 1984

and then it has the date and location of the ceremony and reception.,

"Sometimes, right in the middle of ordinary life, Love gives us a Fairy Tale.

In the spirit of that love, at the Happiest Place on Earth, we invite you to join us as we celebrate our 10 years of Happily Ever After with a reaffirmation of our wedding vows."

Cam,

Those are really pretty, where did you find the castle graphic?

Someone had it posted here in November 2007 when I first started looking. I don't remember who. I ended up modifying it to get the proportions right for the shape of our invitation. I'm not sure where to find it anymore and our computer crashed in 2008 (thankfully, AFTER I'd printed the invites). Send me a PM and I will see if I can find any files at home where I might have it, if you want the graphic.

I love these! Did you do them yourself or have Disney do them?

I was thrilled that Stan was able to get the invitation into the beginning of our video. I haven't figured out yet how to frame it or display it in some way.

The night before our vow renewal (which was 37 people), we hosted a larger dessert party for all of our Vow Renewal guests plus many people from our race team (we initially met the WISH team on the WISH boards here while training for Disney's Marathon Weekend). That party included people who we couldn't invite to the Vow Renewal because of space constraints, but with whom we wanted to share our celebration. There were 69 people there. This is the invitation for that event (our team's color is lime green and someone on the DIS Creative forum designed the graphic for us):

If you have children, why don't you word it coming from them? When we get around to making invitations, we're having our's come from him doing the inviting(granted he'll be under 10 years old and we're paying, I think it will be cute coming from him). I'll look up the vR Wording we're more than likely going to use to give you more of an idea.

Ohhhh...That's a good idea, our girls (will be 9 & 5 at the time) would probably love that!
Deffently another thing to think about!

I was thinking how I didn't care foe all the cookie-cutter invitation wording myself. Our son is almost 3 now, but our day will not only be about my DH & I but about our son too. I think our families and fiends will get a kick out of it coming from our son instead of us. It's just an idea. I'm pretty sure your girls would love to be the ones doing the inviting to your VR.
