Vow Renewal Ideas

Hi Everyone,

We had a Disney Wedding and are thinking about a vow renewal Summer 2009. Have you done it? Where? Who attended & what did you wear?

HI!!

Dh and I are doing a VR in Dec 09 on DCL for our 10th. My MOH from our original wedding, our children, my parents, and my brother and sister and their families are coming with us. Less than 20 people. Dh keeps reminding me this is NOT A WEDDING so i'm doing my best to stay away from too much wedding ideas, but this board is full of great info!!

I chose a very lightweight strapless dress with very little train. Our ceremony will be right on the beach, in teh sand, so i wanted to make sure it didnt' get filthy with a train.

Dh's attire is still up in the air, most likely a very light weight tropical shirt (no prints) and some comfy light island style pants. no suit or tux. Our children will be in teh ceremony, DS will be dressed exactly as DH, and DD will have a flowergirl dress, because that will make her happy. We'll be including them in the sand ceremony.

I know, it's perfect for the beach! It feels so smooth and silky, just like a nightgown! I love it!!

Dh and I just renewed our vows at an Epcot Wishes Wedding in the Courtyard of Italy!! It was so wonderful and I highly recommend a VR!
We had ours May 27, 2008 and there were 31, including us. I had to find a dress with sleeves because of a past surgery so here is the dress I found and loved wearing!!

My DH and I just renewed our vows with a ceremony at the WP and a reception in AK at the Festival of the Lion King. It was very cool!

I went to a friend's of mine's vow renewal. She had her's on the patio at the whitehall room and then had dinner/reception in the whitehall room. It was a fabulous event.

We are doing one in January, between our 24th and 25th anniversaries. We are doing the ceremony at the Wedding Pavillion and the reception at the Whitehall Patio/Ballroom. I am wearing a very traditional, beaded A-line gown from the Demetrios Ilissa collection.

I really think that for a vow renewal, you can do whatever strikes your fancy. It seems that VRs range from very simple to very elaborate and everything in between.

Everyone's dresses are really pretty.

I found my dress at Dillards in 2006 for our 25th Anniversary. It was silver and my husband liked it on me so I went with it. I had originally purchased in the fall of 2005 a creme colored tee-length Evan Picone dress with lots of beads and rhinestones on the v-neck, thin strapped top, but by the time it came to try it on again it did not fit so off to the store I went.

Thank you! I was so nervous about getting that dress! I found it in a magazine and just fell in love with it! But no one carried the dress in the stores so I couldn't try it on! So they took my measurements and I hoped for the best! When I tried it on....it fit perfectly including the length and it looked just like the picture!

I have tried to keep mine a secret..he has seen pictures, but not me in the dress.
Last night I was sending the picturet to someone and he saw just from the sholders down and said "wow..nice chest (he used a different word)" and i had to hide the picture really quick!! LOL

Unfortunately, Joe has seen me in my dress. Our original plan was to not see each other until the day of, but when the dress came in he just had to see it!

We had our 10 yrea anniversary this past June and we are renewing our vows this August 18th! We started planning it about a year ago. We're in the final stages of getting everything finalized.

We went with the small ceremony - 20 people and that includes the two of us. We having it at the Wedding Gazebo at the Yacht Club and a special guest will be there too to help us cut the cake. He has really big ears. HINT HINT!

We've been working with Tanis and she has been very helpful. We haven't had any problems.

We are inviting everyone back to Saratoga Springs Resort for the reception. We ordering Party platters from the Winn-Dixie that is right outside Disney. We're staying in the Grand Villa at SSR so we can fit everyone in our room. Let me know if you ahve any questions.
