When my husband and I got married 10 years ago this coming November, we
agreed that we would renew our vows at Disney on our 10-year anniversary. We already told our parents and some others what we were planning. We are part of DVC so we have a room already booked. I called about the vow renewal and was quoted $2350 for the Boardwalk location and $3200 for the wedding pavilion. Besides the regular money for vacation, this seems like a lot of money just to renew vows. Does anyone have any expereince with a very basic vow renewal? I've read some great reports of really cool experiences with Disney weddings and vow renewals that sound really grand, but we won't be able to afford anything like that this year. Has anyone done a basic pkg and thought it was well worth the money? I'm wondering if we can eliminate some of the "extras" and just have the actual ceremoney with the Deacon (maybe cut out the limo or something). Any ideas or suggestions?? I hate to ditch the whole idea, it was such a goal for us.

I think that's as basic as you're going to be able to get. The only suggestion that I can think of is maybe contacting the Dolphin and the Swan and see if they'll work with you on a cheaper price. Good luck, and let us know how everything turns out!

We had planned on doing a Disney vow renewal, but decided against it because of the cost and value. Instead, we are staying at the Grand Floridian Sugar Loaf Concierge, but having the ceremony off Disney property. Our ceremony will be at Leu Gardens @ 11:30 AM. After the ceremony, we are having tea at the Garden View Lounge at the GF, followed later by a dinner at Citricos. It will be just the 5 of us(DH, DS-15, DD-14 & DD-3). I estimate that the cost of the minister(Rev. Tim), photographer(Randy Chapman), flowers(Wedding Flowers by Blossom), facility rental fee(for Leu Gardens) tea, dinner and wedding cake will be approximately $1450.00. This of course does not include the room at Gf, dress or tuxes, shoes, hair and make-up by Disney Cosmetology.
I booked everything individually myself. It is much cheaper that way, rather than working with a planner.
This was the right choice for us and for our budget.
Good luck to you whatever you decide!! :teeth:

We are having our vow renewal at the Swan in June. The base price at the swan through Just Marry was $2400. Then we decided against alot of the stuff included in the package which brought our price way down and then we wanted additional hours for the photographer so it ended up being $2200 and that includes the site, decorated brass arch and area with flowers, officiant, photography, cake and champagne reception, and wedding coordinator. We decided to go this route because they were more flexible and we were able to cut out the flowers (which I did silk myself), limo, and a few other things that really cut the price down. Then I booked my own videographer and harpist. We are also having an hors de vours and cocktail reception afterwards at the Swan. It kept the cost more comfortable for us and we really love our coordinator.
