I can't understand why these people are trying to get people to vote for the worst. It is not fair to the kids who are really good and are working hard. I can't understand why people would vote for the worst to be funny. It is really wrong.

I don't watch that, but I think the people that go on that show should expect to be humiliated. It seems to be why people watch it.

It's an actual website, called "Vote for the Worst". They do it because they CAN. Never mind that more-deserving talents have gotten voted off, that's not important to the VFTW crew.

I guess they think it's "funny".

The grip itself isn't painful, but the blisters are. I also have less control with the continental grip vs. the American grip. So I guess my vote for "best grip" (even though we're voting on "worst grip") would be the American grip.

We're back! Votefortheworst.com was started in 2004 to support voting for the entertaining contestants who the producers would hate to see win on American Idol. Why do we do it? During the initial auditions, the producers of Idol only let certain people through. Many good people are turned away and many bad singers are kept around to see Simon, Paula, and Randy so that America will be entertained.

Now why do the producers do this? It's simple: American Idol is not about singing at all, it's about making good reality TV and enjoying the cheesy, guilty pleasure of watching bad singing. We agree that a fish out of water is entertaining, and we want to acknowledge this fact by encouraging people to make an even funnier show by helping the amusing antagonists stick around. VFTW sees keeping these contestants around as a golden opportunity to make a funnier show.

Well, I know I am. I stopped short of saying something about how I always hit balls short when I use the continental grip - which is absolute fact -- the continental grip is too closed (or is it too open?) and I always hit into the net -- thus my vote for the worst grip. Do they still teach these? My dad taught me those things back when Bjorg was the man and we put our rackets in torture frames after the match.
