Where do you guys volunteer? Do you enjoy it?

I volunteer at the hospital, specifically in the ER, and I really like it. I've been doing it since my freshman year and I've met some really nice peole and have REALLY seen how hospitals are.

I also volunteer in this program called Teen Court. Basically teens get to be part of the jury, clerk, baliff, etc. and have the opportunity to decide what happens to teens when they get brought in for misdemeanors. (it's mostly stealing)

But now I'm starting to look into other volunteering opportunities. Some people see volunteering as a burden, but I really like it; how about you guys?

I spent 3 weeks this past summer volunteering in the British Virgin Islands.

I lived on a boat with 12 other kids, and 3 adult staff members.

Most amazing experience of my life <3

We tagged-and-released turtles, cleaned beaches, played at schools, helped out VISAR, and so much more.

So rewarding... I'd go a thousand more times... Listening to the Hawai'ian version of "Somewhere over the Rainbow" while sailing on the wavy ocean, watching the sun go down o'er the green, mountainous islands..

I'd give anything to be there now... Plus I got 100 hours of service, which I needed for school.. But I'd have done it even without the credit.

That sounds really nice!
I wish I could do something like that; an out of the country experience, while helping others!

My best friend and I deliver Meals on Wheels- we absolutely LOVE it. We ask for the same delivery route every week, so we are becoming friends with some of the seniors we deliver to. We just started summer 09.

I've also been helping out sorting toys at a toy drive for the holidays. :santa:
