We are not going to universal parks but thinking of a 1 day ticket to volcano bay late December. Is there a Hilton Garden inn/ Hampton or something similar near by that we can stay at and drive to park at volcano bay. I’m not familiar with these parks or locations at all- just my son always wants to try out this water park. We would book closer to last minute after we see weather forecast.

Pretty sure to drive you have to park in the Universal Parking Garages and take a shuttle bus. I believe if you stay at Cabana Bay you can walk to the park.

Most of what would be like Hilton's are on the other side of I-4. There are several Hiltons on American Way. It's over I-4 but many walk that route, you can walk it to the shuttle bus.

You can look at the Drury on Sand Lake Road south of Volcano Bay. It would be about 1.3 mile walk.

Universal has many resorts at various budgets I would look at first.

If you drive, there are many others nearby. Drury Inn is our pick for non-resort hotels. Close and you get free breakfast and "dinner and drinks" the Kickback deal.

Not sure where you are, but I would probably make this a last-minute wait-and-see kind of trip to make sure the weather is adequate.

We’ll be staying on-site for the first time next summer, but Drury Inn is also our recommendation for off-site.

Off topic, but my nephew who lives in Orlando and who has been to all the Orlando waterparks and to many other highly rated ones, just loves Volcano Bay -- best waterpark he's every been to he says. Have a blast.

Aventura hotel is about 10 steps to Volcano Bay security..Cabana Bay has its own security it's that close.

There are a bunch of hotels across the street from the garage, Hyatt Place, Hyatt House, Holiday Inn, Doubletree Inn and I think.a Best Western

Universals newer resorts that are considered Value offer a lot of fun and should be considered for a trip.
I was very uncertain until I recently stayed for one night .
These 2 Resorts offer more because they are owned and operated by Loews , a real not pretend hotel company.
They still have great pools , great transport, theming, poolside Bars (love them) … food court and Starbucks in each resort .
They are very popular.

Cabana Bay is still my favorite but only if I have a poolside family suite with view of Cabana Bay and interior entry .($$$)

When Epic opens Universal will have another new resort ! YAY!
But these 2 values will offer a great location almost halfway between all their theme parks…

Compare the cost of the Cabana Bay family suites with the family suites at Disney’s Art of Animation. AoA doesn't have interior corridors

Art of Animation has always been more expensive whenever I have searched their pricing for a family suite.
And I have castmember discount .
Cabana Bay does have exterior entry but I prefer the design for the interior suites. With better extra large window view of the entire Resort .
Its just better!

AoA Family Suites have interior entries.

They do not have any exterior access like a patio or balcony.
