We are heading down on Sept 16. We’ll be 3 nights at HRH, and then 2 weeks at Vistana.
My DH and i, amd 25 yo daughter with her fiancé. He’s never been to Universal or WDW. For a college graduation present I got them a day at Discovery Cove, with the Aquatica, Sea World add-on.
Shes sad Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach are closed.
we’ve never been to VB or Aquatica. Is the Volcano Bay experience compelling enough To pay for and lose park/pool time at HRH (major priority for them ) with Aquatica later in the trip?

Not in my opinion. I actually liked Aquatica better. They're both fun, well done water parks with fun rides. The aquacoaster at VB is a blast, and the theming is fun, and the slides are fun. But not necessarily enough different from Aquatica which is already effectively free and has fewer time constraints for you.

yeah, I love VB, but would agree it's going to be easier and cheaper/effectively free to go to Aquatica.

Hi due to the time restraints and a first timer to Universal I would say no! However, I have been to both Aquatica and Volcano Bay and think they are both good in their own ways. They have a different feel from each other. Volcano Bay is much more themed and relaxing. I would recommend another time visiting Volcano Bay it is my family's favorite water park.

We enjoyed VB much more than Aquatica (also add on from Discovery Cove)...but we went to Aquatica on a very crowded weekend day which contributed a lot to our dislike. If going off season and weekday, you may have a much better experience.
