There will be 18 attractions in four themed areas. These will include a multi-directional wave pool with sandy beaches, a peaceful winding river, twisting multi-rider raft rides, speeding body slides that drop from the top of the volcano into the waters below – and a state-of-the-art marquee attraction that will be revealed at a later date.

June 1st, 2017

  • Krakatau: The 200-foot volcano, Krakatau, will be home to the unannounced marquee attraction and three body slides at the rear of the volcano with surprise doors that drop guests down into the slide. One of the body slides, Ko'okiri Body Plunge, is a 70-degree drop that sends guests down 125-feet through the center of the volcano and through a guest pool. The other two body slides, the Kala and Ta Nui Serpentine Body Slides, are two intertwining slides where guests will race along 124 feet of twists and turns. In addition, the area will have Punga Racers, "a high-speed race through four different enclosed slides featuring manta-shaped mats."
  • Wave Village: Located at the base of Krakatau will be the Waturi Beach, a multi-directional wave pool with a sand beach and private one- or two-story cabanas. In addition, The Reef, is a leisure pool where guests get a view of those brave enough to ride the body slides.
  • River Village: The calming, lazy river-style portion of the park includes the Kopiko Wai Winding River that passes though the caves of the volcano, which features water effects and nighttime lighting; Tot Tiki Reef, a play area for toddlers with slides and a kid-size volcano; Runamukka Reef, a three-story water playground with slides and sprinklers; Honu, a multi-passenger raft ride with two giant slope walls; and Ika Moana, another multi-passenger raft ride that will glide along bubble geysers.
  • Rainforest Village: A part of the water park based on thrills like Maku, North America's first "saucer ride" that has raft riders "speeding around three saucer-shaped curves;" Puihi, another multi-passenger raft ride that will take guests into a dark area with a zero-gravity drop; Ohyah and Ohno Drop Slides, two twisting slides that will launch guests four and six feet above the water at the end; TeAwa The Fearless River, a racing torrent, whitewater rapids river where guests can hang onto inner tubes; Taniwha Tubes, four Easter Island-inspired slides; and Puka Uli Lagoon, a relaxing pool area.

looks beautiful !

if anyone is into water parks, they will look forward to this.

all i do is look at the pictures on sites.
i stay away from water parks.

It looks fabulous and we are really excited. It seems like a long way off, but we'll have powerpasses until early November in 2017 so this seems like a good reason to go back to Universal ;).

Everything I read says "no waiting in lines"...I'm curious exactly what they mean by that.

YES, that's exactly what I came here to say/ask about.

An e-mail I received today says: "No standing in long lines, wrestling with tubes, or waiting for the fun to begin."

Can anyone clarify? I feel like that is an impossible promise, and they should be very careful about their wording...

Are they billing this as a "third park"? Will this cost as much as US/IoA or will be be like Disney, where you can add-on this park?

Can't wait our passes are good until September 2017 so it looks like we'll be going back before they're up!

The puns are heavy in the naming, from "Waturi" people, to Ohya and Ohno slides.

This fiery landmark towers over the landscape, beckoning guests to the center of this lush, tropical island.

Krakatau™
At the heart of the island, Krakatau™, the mighty Fire and Water Volcano, towers 200 feet above the tropical landscape, streaming waterfalls during the day and fiery lava effects at night. Inside the cavernous volcano, the Waturi people dare you to brave a variety of pulse-pounding water slides.

Ko’okiri Body Plunge
Join in the centuries-old tradition of honoring the volcano god, Vol, by braving the incredible Ko’okiri Body Plunge. Featuring a 70-degree fall through a drop door and 125 feet of screaming, white-knuckle fun, this dizzying descent ends with a watery tribute from Vol himself.

Kala & Ta Nui Serpentine Body Slides
Join Kala and Ta Nui where sea and sky meet and take a leap of faith from high atop the volcano. Twin trap doors simultaneously drop two guests down clear, intertwining tubes before sending them joyfully splashing into the turquoise waters below.

Punga Racers
A favorite among Waturi children of all ages, Punga Races send single riders on their manta ray mats sliding down four lanes through underwater sea caves.
Wave Villiage
This peaceful escape overlooks the sparkling waters of Waturi Beach at the base of the volcano.

Waturi Beach
Locals know — the surf’s always up at Waturi Beach. Swim, splash and relax right along with them in the sparkling waters and warm waves of this sparkling lagoon at the foot of mighty Krakatau™.

River Village

The scenic River Village has fun for people of all ages, including the very youngest Waturi.

Honu ika Moana

Just like the ancient Waturi people who rode the ocean waves on friendly sea turtles and whales, guests can enjoy these two twisting, turning, multi-person slides. Honu sweeps up two massive walls, while Ika Moana sprays water on riders from the center of the raft.

Tot Tiki Reef + Runamukka Reef
The little ones can frolic among the splashy slides and fountains of the Tot Tiki Reef toddler play area, while Runamukka Reef delights older children with its bubbling geysers, water guns, slides and dump cups.

Kopiko Wai Winding River
Take a slow ride on the Kopiko Wai Winding River. Sprays of water surprise along the way, and beneath the lava rocks, Stargazer’s Cavern reveals the magical night sky above.

Rainforest Village
Rainforest Village stretches along the shores of an action-packed river and features the perfect mix of relaxation and exhilaration.

Ohyah + Ohno Drop Slides
Test your mettle and get into the Waturi spirit. Ascend cliff side and plummet down the twisting waters of Ohyah before dropping out four feet above the pool below. To achieve even greater bragging rights, brave the rope bridge and plunge down Ohno, a serpentine adventure that ends six feet above the pool below. Be sure to yell your battle cry on the way down.

Maku Puihi Raft Rides
Ready for the high adventure of the Maku Puihi lava tubes? This six-person rafting adventure is a favorite of Waturi families, but it’s not for the faint of heart. Choose one of two paths or try them both—just be ready for a thrilling ride. Puihi careens through a dark, winding tunnel before the stomach-flipping thrill of zero gravity hang time. Maku slides you through a deep volcanic gorge before spinning wildly around bowl-like formations.

TeAwa, The Fearless River
Up for an adventure? Take a thrilling whitewater ride along TeAwa, The Fearless River. Race along a roaring, watery onslaught of churning rapids and choppy waves hanging tight to your inner tube.

Taniwha Tubes
There’s a place where the puka trees grow abnormally tall. Inspired by their twisting roots, the Waturi built four twisting water slides called the Taniwha Tubes. Riders can try all four twisting tracks, but beware — mischievous Moai statues spray jets of water when you least expect it.

They are testing out a virtual queue/slide reservation system at Wet 'n Wild now. Each guest is given a wristband as they go through the turnstiles. If they want to go on a ride, they tap their wristband to a screen near the attraction and are given a return time.

Basically it is like the old FastPass system. Currently they are testing it with no stand-by lines, but I do not know how they will actually run it when it's at VB.

Express Pass is still available for purchase at WnW. I am unsure if VB will have Express Pass.

I have heard VB referred to as a "water theme park." Curious to see how it differs from other water parks in the area! And I haven't heard about any ticket or AP prices released yet.

I am also SO excited about the announcements! :)

I think it looks amazing and the virtual queue is a great idea! Although you might end up doing a lot of walking, which in my opinion isn't a bad thing.

The official advert has Universals 3rd Park on the screen at the end so yes to the PP it's being billed as a 3rd gate

Personally I love the look of it and whilst I wasn't planning on coming back until after star wars land etc after September, I might be persuaded to do a universal trip in the meantime :)

I read in an article that USO will be offering three park passes, no mention of the water park being an add on. The per day park to park (to park?) Or single park pass will probably just increase in price. I wonder will they offer more than 4 day passes once VB opens?
