Is this a good idea? Will I expect long lines? Odds it rains every night? I can upgrade my seasonal pass to get in after 4pm. Any other options are not economical although I could buy a single vb day if needed

We did this a lot last summer just because crowds were much lower (the deal for the lower passes didn't exist last year) Rain is more typical around 1-4pm thunderstorm this time of year and very short in duration (although it can vary, tropical systems throw it off but they are rare). After a thunderstorm passes through is the best time to go to Volcano Bay.

The only thing I can think of is thunderstorms is being an issue. A thing to note is not just when thunder / lightning is over the park, but when it is near a certain amount of miles. However, if you're going all those days I would imagine you'd get your fill of VB regardless.

Unfortunately, I do not know about actual experience in terms of lines since I never been.

Yes, the thunderstorms are mostly what concerns me. We are not doing the slides in the volcano as I don't believe my daughter will be tall enough and both me and my son did them last year and aside from the bragging rights of doing it, neither of us plan on doing them again.
