Vodafone roaming charges?

I heard from a friend that you can use your phone in the USA on Vodafone and you pay just UK rate price for calls? How does this work?

Also if myself and hubby are in the usa and need to call each other, what rate will we be charged at?

unfortunately vodafone passport doesn't cover the USA

it is great if you're in europe - 75p connection then use your minutes but I checked before I went to florida in April and they don't cover the USA ... 3 very short calls cost me well over £10!

That's pretty good isn't it? In the past I have bought a calling card or used voip when I had internet access, but one of these things would be really useful. Particularly if you travel to the US regularly...

I got one because in the past everytime i used my uk mobile(contract) to text my sil uk mobile while we were both in the usa, you know the usual, "where shall we all meet up" etc!! - i was coming home to a £60 + mobile phone bill

I had just been on the Walmart website and was about to post about this deal - it looks really good - 300 minutes for $24. How much does it cost to receive calls or texts on this phone - anyone know. Last year my 3 week bill when I got home was over £300 and that was just phoning for about 5 minutes every 3 -4 days. Im not getting caught out again this year
