VMK Pirate pins/cards are sold out

The VMK pirate pins and cards went on sale at nine this morning at the WDW pin stores. I just got a call from Tydragon2001, who's at the Magic Kingdom and says the pins sold out within half an hour.

I don't know whether they'll be supplying more pins throughout the day, or whether the pins are gone until another shipment in a few days, or what.

that's no good. I hope there is a supply for in park purchases and a separate supply for mail/online/phone orders. I'm leaving for WDW this Saturday and was hoping to buy some at the end of the week in the parks.

I was going to go to DD after work today and pick up a couple. I guess I will still go and see if they do have a re-stock. I thought this was suppose to be an unlimited release not a small amount.

It may be a unlimited release, but that doesn't mean that the shops ordered enough pins to meet today's demand for them.

This is an open edition pin group so it is a little misleading to state that they are sold out! Sold out implies a limited number of pins available.

They have perhaps currently run out of the supply at hand and will have to wait to get another shipment to restock.

Also, this pin group may most likely be found at Pin Central at Epcot or some of the other locations since it has not been determined to be exclusive to Magic Kingdom shops.

Rumors fly quite quickly and of course reading the subject title of the thread would lead one to believe that these pins are gone for good.

As of 10:40 am Eastern time they still had them for phone orders. I placed my order at that time.

since so many are ordering/buying 5 boxes, many of us will have duplicates of both the pins and the cards, good trading opportunitiues!

Don't forget that this *IS* an open edition. They are also going to be on sale at DLR in a month, so I would suspect that the stores merely didn't have enough for this morning's demand. They'll probably be resupplied from the warehouse in a day or two.

Yes, I think everyone that was there today looking for the pins were not just buying ONE box, but buying dozens....

I just hope the rush settles down in by the weekend... (a girl can dream cant she)

Guess they didn't quite anticipate correctly just how addicted vmk'ers are. Hopefully this will help them be more prepared for the demand when the pins hit DLR.

Did they sell them at VMK Central?? Where else in the MK? Frontierland??
Are the pins at DTD sold out?
Are the pins availble at any of the resorts... Other Parks, like the big pin area in Epcot and MGM... Might they have them also??

Just ordered mine via phone at 12:20 Central time, and the operator told me her computer showed "a lot" in inventory, but that they were getting lots of orders today. Disney sure knows how to increase sales, just add "VMK" to the name and include some virtual things. Glad I own Disney stock too!!!

I sent my sister over to DTD this morning to pick up a few sets for me, and they were all sold out there as well. She was told they went on sale on SATURDAY! Needless to say, I just heard from Palm - she is not too happy with me, LOL! BUT she loves me and is making the 45 min. drive again tomorrow to check for me. The lady told her they were expecting more in tomorrow (this is for DTD, can't speak for the actual park stores...)
