VMK Movie Theater stuff!

While looking through other rewards I noticed real items going for cheaper points.

Found this while looking through site notice the pirate room with pirate costumes could this be a hint?

Guess I will have to live with out it, I have already bought most of these movies and I'm not buying them again. They should let you enter the bar code on the one you have already.

For a FREE game it sure is costing a lot of money. At this point in time I think I would rather pay $20 a month and absolutely nothing else to have to buy.
Let’s see, trips to the park, movies to buy, pins to buy, trips through Disney for stitch --- yeah right, it's a FREE game alright.

I love you guys here on DIS but I'm becoming more and more disenchanted with VMK all the time.

I knew from the start that this game was a giant promotion to get us to
spend money with Disney. Considering that I will continue to spend money
with Disney now and in the immediate future, I am actually happy we don't
have a pay monthly for this game.

Do I take trips? Sure. I bought DVC due to the frequency of trips I had
been taking.

Do I buy their films? Yes. I have a nice collection of Disney
movies. (My favorites are the tins with the Disney Treasures. I hope new
releases will count towards this movie points system!)

Do I buy pins?
Yes! You don't want to know how many Disney pins I own. You can be
sure I'll buy the new mystery pin series!

The game is geared to make you spend with Disney. Why would anyone think
otherwise?

How/where do I log in so I can get to my profile? When I try to log in, all it tells me is "Sorry. Disney Movie Rewards is open to legal residents of the 50 United States only." I don't see anywhere to edit my profile...

I used my Disney online registered name. The same one I use when I log
into VMK. If you log in with an email address, try that.

Well what does that mean? :confused3

She was just trying to explain why the game is set up the way it is, that it is intended to drive sales for Disney. Disney's whole goal is to make money (and as a (small) stockholder, I salute their fine job if it :thumbsup2 ).

If you look very closely at that picture of the new items, here's what it appears to have:

- A big-screen TV
- Small speakers and large subwoofers, some with stands (the two against the right wall)
- A table shaped to look like a film reel
- New chairs
- Framed posters on the wall, with a light above each

Woot! I signed right up. I don't own the new Little Mermaid DVD and I belong to the Disney Movie Club, so I visited the site to buy it and...it's not listed! ??? It's available from Amazon.com, but not DMC? Does anyone else belong to the Disney Movie Club? Am I going blind?

They don't add the new movies right away, at least for the big ones like this. They'll have it in a month or two.

What's that about? I wonder why you put up with a game that frustrates
you practically every day? :confused3 I was only trying to put everything
into perspective.

For a free game, I'm quite happy with VMK. Sure, there are frustrations
since Day One, but I think with every improvement, it's gotten better.

Why so negative? You even won inferno from one of those host games you
"can't get into". :teeth:

Venting is good, but when every day is a new vent, I just wonder why you
put up with it. Perhaps it's the "hi cat!" when we see you? Hanging out with
VMK friends is high on my list of why I spend a lot of time in VMK.

 Hang in there. (Chocolate seems to help me when I want to :badpc: . ;) )

Thanks for the heads up. We purchase Disney Movies anyway in our household. My youngest is a HUGE Cars fan so I know that is on our list. I am a HUGE Pirates fan so there is another. I filled out the survey so there is another 100 points. Right there is 300 points with another 400 to go. I am sure that they will continue to add eligible movies to the list. So if you purchase them anyway, it will not hurt to join the club. You never know.
I couldn't agree more Iris! I'm a huge DVD fan (I own close to 500 I think?)!! It's too bad I can't get points for already purchased DVDs, I have like 30 of those! Heh. Ah well... VMK's doing it's job... I was trying to decide if I wanted to double-dip for the Little Mermaid (I already own one the "Limited Issue" version on DVD)... I guess now I will. I'm such a sucker... fished right in. LOL :rotfl:

So after signing up (I just used my existing VMK account info and I got right in) I took the questionaire and when I get the DVD... that'll be 200 points. I was going to get Pirates 2, Cars, and the new Narnia, so I'll have 550 points. There's a new Robin Hood? Hmm... Didn't know about that, will have to check it out. I get that and there's another 100... Hmm... Still 50 short by December.

I sure hope they come out with more ways to earn points and/or keep the VMK prize around for a long time! :happytv:

Goofy_Bob, if you search a little within the site, there is a note about upcoming opportunities to earn extra points. My guess is that more surveys will come out or something. Also, don't forget to refer a friend, if they sign up, you will get some extra points too. I am SO glad to know we are not the only ones who collect DVDs. We even get a second one if it is a movie that we really like and want to have a second just in case. I forgot about Narnia, we will most likely get that as well. I suspect by Christmas we might have enough. Don't forget about younger relatives who may enjoy a movie as a present. I have a niece who might really like that Disney Dogs computer game.

I've been trying to get my account to log into this program with no success. I've sent a couple messages to the help team and I was finally told to call the 800 number. I just got of the phone with them and this was the response:

If your account has your email address as the username then that account may not be able to login to the program at all. The workaround is to create a new account for the Rewards programs.

I tried to point out all the problems with the recommended solution but the lady stuck to her guns. "I understand, just create a new account sir." I'm probably one of those people that phone support operators hate to talk to. :teeth:

Thats weird, I was able to sign in using my email address sign is as I use in VMK, and All disney owned sites.

The items look so cool to get

I actually had this problem with the Disneyshopping.com site when I started using it. I had already signed up with Disney using my e-mail address (and that's what I've always used for everything else, including VMK), but it wouldn't let me log in to DS using that. Finally I just made a new account using just my name as a login, lopping off the @xxx.com part. It works fine, and that's how I log in to DS. When I signed up for the movie rewards I used the DS login because it already had my town information in there, while the e-mail address login didn't. I would just make a new account.

for the info you dont has to sign up you use you vmk login

From Disney Movie Rewards via email.

There will also be other exciting ways to earn points, such as answering
occasional, specially identified surveys and/or trivia questions at
DisneyMovieRewards.com. We'll let you know via email when these opportunities
become available. Plus, be sure to check DisneyMovieRewards.com regularly for
more updates.

:Pinkbounc With that said you also get points for referring people. If anyone hasn't signed up would you let me use your email address and send you a referral? Just PM me if willing. I get 5 points for each referral up to 10. :bounce:

I found this same site from another post :) I signed up yesterday and have 200 points built up from my movie and a survey.

P.S. I am a member of the Disney Movie Club as well but they will not be bringing the little mermaid (I can tell since it's a "Platinum Edition") to the DVD club. It's featured on the Disney Shopping site just like many other DVDs that are not on the Disney Movie Club.
