Vmk Hosts And Staff!! Are They Nice?

One thing nobody has mentioned is the fact we have a line to see them could put you into a mind set that you wasted time if you have a negative experience. Add in that waiting factor from the line and now you have exponentially increased that negative feeling. Now factor in that you will remember that negative experience and you will be watching for ANYTHING that you think doesnt look good and... well I think you get the idea.

Also, we all dont get along with everyone, thats just a fact of life. Some of the stories in this thread are going to be as simple as that.

sorry to disagree with you all, but I have never once found Phinny to be "nice" at all. I have found her to be rude and mean spirited on more that one (hundred?) occasion. I have never had a good experience when she was hosting a game/room. and it is not about being "strict following the rules".

Is calling her a "dude" against the rules? I think NOT. That was mean and nasty and she really should have been fired a long long time ago.

About a year ago I was in one of her rooms for a game. I had just got in the door and was just barely in the room, once you were in the room you were automatically in line, there was no way for anyone to pass me or enter the room until I moved up, so there was definitely no one behind me. I was paying close attention to the game.
I was standing there waiting my turn to move up when she asked me by name to move back a step. I wasn't thinking and I did as she asked and was kicked from the room. It wasn't a boot, it was an ugly trick.

Oh yeah, did I mention I had been in line for 2 hours to get in the room in the first place?

Just to clarify, Aengus became the VMK Head Cheerleader back in the early stages of VMK. He became the Official VMK Head Cheeleader title when he lost the title of "VMK Top Model" to me.

Thought I would give my opinion on this., even tho I'm not a regular anymore

I won't talk about the negatives (those who know me, know EXACTLY who I am talking about ) but concentrate on those who actually help make VMK a joy to play instead of a reason to quit.

Hula is a top host. She is friendly, courteous and knows how to go about dealing with issues and problems the correct way, not using insta-boot. Hula and I have had some good chats, and based upon my own experiences and her interaction with others, she is what a host should be.

Lily is a great joy to be around. She is fun, always friendly but also knows how to deal with things correctly. I agree she is the most lenient of them, but knows how to crack the whip when she needs to!

I've never had a big problem with staff never been booted or anything. I've seen Lilly and Cat out of host rooms and they are really nice and super funny...but I was just in maui madness and Fin says "I see bat he " right before i exited through the teleporter....now i dont know any other Bat or Batty but I found it to be some what funny since I've never really talked to Phinny...i think I'll have to re enter the room and see if she was talking to me! lol

Actually Lori, she has only been mean to me twice (I won inferno in one of the early games and she booted me without giving it to me and told the room I d/ced (my wife was in the room at the time) and then she booted me from a teleporter game because I got stuck behind some crates, right after I asked, "how do I get out of here") but I also watch her behavior with others and she is just plain rude. I rarely say anything in host rooms, sometimes, I just stand in the door and watch. Lily is nice, if kind of a bubblehead lol, Hula is very nice 99% of the time, but cannot stay on long enough haha. Sparky plain rocks, he is just cool and funny. but Fin? I have no idea what her issue is, I have watched her since day 1 treat regular VMK player like total trash. I avoid her games now. (since the first pin trading event, she basically trashed everyone in the room the entire time I was in there)

I have a lot of respect for Fin, she is smart, fair and honest. Her rules are clear and she is consistent. Unlike Hula and sometimes Lily who seem to make too many exceptions, which is good for the people they are helping but not always fair or welcoming to everyone else. As a whole though HOST_s aren't that good, the VMK_ team are much better and efficient. HOST_s just seem to be moody, again the duo I mentioned before. Some days it's great and others they seem soured or not in the mood.

No matter what your opinion is of hosts or vmk staff, you have to have a certain respect for them. I honestly believe even Mr Roger's cheese would slip off his cracker in vmk. I dont know how staff does it. If I was staff I would boot so fast you would see kids by the thousands flying around the map.

So we have to give credit where credit is due. Whats important tho is being consistant. Treating each player the same....not showing favoritism (sp?). And I dont think that is often the case.

i believe host and vmk staff are wonderful people, just sometimes they can get mean.

For instance, I was in Host_hulas room and my mom called me in to help her fast. I told my brother to just make sure i didnt dc, so my brother was talking to people. When i got back Hula got very snotty with me. I would have posted pic, but not enough posts to have link sorry

I have always found all of the vmk hosts to be fun and patient. I give them losts of credit for fielding all of the questions they get in a single host event while trying to keep the line or game moving along.

Phinny is absolutely amazing in her pin trade events! She really does a great job to move so many of is through in a short time span. (I have never made it to any other host trade events other than Fin's. I'm sure the other hosts do the same.)

Further, I can not imagine how they feel this month with so many people wanting dreams...and only having limited time.

heh I feel so naive

I love them all and seem to always walk away with a funny story.

Yesterday was VMK_Mocha, I took a picture of her in the vmk central behind the pirates photo thing. Its not every day you can see a VMK_ in prison Put it up right in the post office.

some kids were really on her case and she really was amazing in how patiently she handled it.

I am now a big Mocha fan too

She was in the temple yesterday as well and I got a chance to run into her many times. (seems more than most for me) She too in the Temple was getting hammered by the kids. I felt terrible for her. But she handled it like a champ!! She tries to address all that say hi to her by title. I find that very cool since they are constantly spoken to in the game.

Many people confuse Host Fin for being mean, with the fact she tends to be strict. It's not a matter of how mean or how nice she is, she expects everyone to follow the rules. And when they dont, she has a boot and knows how to use it! Once you get that you will realize host fin is not only nice, but also very funny as well. Host fin was also a VMK_ even after the Host_ names started being used. Not sure what her role was back then but she does seem to be the one who notices things like duplicate IP's and the like. I wouldnt rush to a judgement if I were you on host fin, you may miss the opportunity to see how great she really is.

All the hosts crack me up the patience they all have is really remarkable.

I agree Lava Boy. Fin has never been anything but super wonderful to me and I appreciate how she tries maintains the integrity of the game.

I feel bad for all of the Hosts. I sure hope they have short keys available so they don't have to type the same answers over and over and and over again, there poor fingers would be cut to the bone . All of them have the patience of a saint in my opinion

omg back before vmk passes i waited behind 500 ppl to get in fin's room when i gott in i asked for a pic she said" sorry i only take pics on saturdays in my play room" which i thought was stupid pointless and annoying then i got the boot -_- i hate host phinny, what do you guys think?

yeah um... thats right HOST_Lily Is SOOOOO NICE!! she always responds to u and is sooooo FUNNY!! and Fin.. Well Fin is ok But treats some people like trash. HOST_Hula is GREAT To but most of all all hosts are kewl cause they try to make vmk a great place for us soz...

Well Yeah, Ive also seen her treat them like trash, she should be nicer
