I really need to ask where you got this information from. As far as I am aware none of the social media folk have a contract with Disney nor receive a paycheck from them. Only those on Disney's official platforms and under TDC name are employees and are restricted as to what they say. That's a far cry from being an employee.

Influencer Marketing does not work like a regular employee. You are right, they wont have a contract or receive a paycheck from Disney. Thats not how influencer marketing works.

Influencer Marketing is falls under the advertising and promotions part of marketing. A marketing department will have a influencer marketing program, which is basically a list of high profile bloggers and vloggers. When Disney want to promote something, they will use this list of people and invite them to media events, or send them press releases or send them free merchandise.

To get on this list a blogger / vlogger needs to be of use to Disney.

Vloggers are basically hired by Disney, even if you don't realize they are. Disney like many big company's now use Influencer Marketing as part of their overall marketing plan. This means they will have a list of Vloggers and will give these Vloggers special access, previews , merchandise and other indirect payments. In return the Vloggers create content and distribute it on behalf of Disney....

Influencer Marketing is an industry term , go research it.

Yes, absolutely. They get a lot of perks, like hotel stays or dinners or passes to "special events" that the commoners, like you and I don't get access to. Some of the current vloggers were once CMs too. Molly and her husband at AllEars, and Kyle Pallo are a few examples.

The Trackers are awful at the bold. They don't disclose what was provided versus what wasn't. At the most you get Tim in the last 20 seconds of the vlog saying "Thanks for X for having us out"

I know in other countries outside the USA there are super strict regulations with regards to disclosing things like that.

I've heard that the Trackers aren't really on the Media lists anymore. I don't know if that is true or just gossip, or why that would be. Just a rumor on the wind.

Trackers were dropped from Universal and the Disney Media list last Summer after their unsavory racist/homophobic videos came to light. They are reactionary to everything, the moment they got on the Uni/Dis list I would've went through my entire catalog on YouTube and scrub anything that could be perceived as offensive.

They only are being #hosted by Seaworld, Busch Gardens, and Lego Land themepark wise.

They Trackers couldn't even disclose the fact until after the cruise it wasn't their first cruise since they apparently did one years ago, but it so long ago it "didn't count".

They've been dropped by Disney 100%

The last thing Disney invited them out to do was the reopening of Disney Springs.

Tim was spotted in the "media" area of the first Happily Ever After since Covid, but he was someones +1 not invited out by Disney, nor did he in that vlog make it clear that he wasn't or was invited out.

Look at their earlier vlogs where they complained about the cost of everything, flaunted many things Disney frowns upon (I.E how to lie to park at the resorts to go into the parks, or parking at Downtown Disney (at the time) walking over to Saratoga Springs or picking any resort bus then taking another bus to the parks to avoid in the daily parking fees. Tim used to get a "Birthday Button" every time he went to the parks and then grovel for free stuff. Jenn would just go to Guest Services and complain and get free stuff as well.

Not to excuse their bad behavior in ANY way, I know die hard Disney fans that pull that kind of nonsense too without even a hint of regret. Doesn't make them less of fan, just less of a decent person. lol

I've also noticed they don't seem very knowledgeable about some stuff. Which is fine, we as humans don't know everything about everything, but still, if you're not positive about something you can just say it. I saw this recently in the latest SeaWorld video (and made a comment about it in the SeaWorld sub). SeaWorld doing haunted houses this year for Halloween and announced what some of the house's themes will be. One of them is supposed to be an abandoned research base in the Arctic. Tim was walking around the Antarctic section speculating about where the house will be... even though there is the Wild Arctic section that is already themed like an Arctic research base. Someone didn't learn the Arctic is the north pole and the Antarctic is the south pole!

If your job is a "themepark vlogger" you should at the minimum keep up with the coming and goings of your local parks.

I believe I've seen a bit of this video before. Years ago I used to watch Tim but I was bored and there was nothing better. I haven't watched this couple in forever and this video didn't make me want to return to watching them. To be honest I coudn't get past the first 5 minutes.

Don't know why Disney thinks giving expensive items away to people who just aren't interesting would make anyone want to buy their product. They're far better off with honest reviews from people who've purchased the product on their own.

Oh, I totally realize there's revenue involved. And for those who do it, it does pay out and I hope they do well. It's just not something I would do. That's all I'm saying.

Wow.....you really seem to have an axe to grind with them. Mind sharing your YouTube page with us? I'm sure it's really good since you seem to know what should be done?

You also seem to have a real problem with the media kick backs they're getting, like it's criminal or something. It's a media pass they get, just like any media outlets. I'm sure you feel the same way about ABC or Time Magazine, etc?

The Trackers may not be your cup of tea, that's fine. But they're far from a vlog that isn't popular. Today they're sitting at 875K subscribers and every video they post is consistently between 100k-200k views. They may be boring to some of you but there's plenty of people who think otherwise.

the whole point of doing influencer marketing is to reach a different audience. The Vloggers have built up an audience that a company want to reach. Influencer marketing is just the modern day equivalent of the advertising and paid reviews that company's would do with magazines and newspapers before the internet.

Influencer Marketing is part of Promotions which is one of the four traditional "P"s of Marketing. The other ones are Product, Price and Place. There are also 2 new "P"s People and Process.

The academic definition of Promotion is the publicizing of a product, organization, or venture so as to increase sales or public awareness.

Company's like Disney have a specific budget for influencer marketing. They dont just give away free stuff for the sake of it. Its call Return of Investment. For example, they put a new desert item on a restaurant menu, and send out a press release in advance to the vloggers, who then turn up on the first day this menu item goes onsale and do a food review. They might even send out a discount or free voucher to the vloggers. Giving the discount or free voucher to the vloggers might cost them $100. But then the vlogs go online and then Disney start to see an increase of sales of the specific item they asked the vloggers to feature.

There is so much more to it than this, Ive just given a very simplified example. But basically Disney gain so much from the vloggers than what it costs to give away free stuff.

You seem to know far more than I do about marketing. I still don't see how giving free items away to these social media folk increase Disney's reach to new people. Surely the people following these social media folk are already Disney fans and would be spending money accordingly. It would not increase public awareness by very much if at all.

Now, I understand Disney owns and uses ABC to promote their products, that's an entirely different animal and viewership. Disney needs is to reach the people who may or may not be fans and are deciding between a Royal Caribbean cruise and a Disney cruise, between staying at the Hilton and staying at Grand Floridian. It just seems to be a wasted effort on the marketing team's part to bother with these social media folk and then police them to be sure they do their part right.

Again, I'm really just a bystander in the world of marketing. It still blows my mind how much money companies throw at things like 30 second commercials during the super bowl.
