The ABD official web site indicates we take a 'Eurostar Train to Venice' from Florence. I am confused because when I Google 'Eurostar' or go to the website 'www.eurostar.com' it seems the company runs high speed rail between the UK and France only, I see no mention of Italy on their own web site.

Can anyone explain if it is truely 'Eurostar' that ABD uses, or are they just using the term loosely to describe simply traveling by high speed rail? If the later can anyone tell me the actual train service ABD uses, I would like to look at the website for the service we will be on with ABD as we may be needing to consider taking the rail back to Florence from Venice after the ABD trip ends.

Thanks in advance

Jim

"Trenitalia" is the State-owned rail service and they do operate a "Eurostar Italia" line.

Here is the official website. Just click "Our Trains" for more info.

The name Eurostar is used under license from Iveco, which owns the trademark and used the name for one of their trucks. Despite the identical name, there is no relation between this service and the Eurostar railway service that runs through the Channel Tunnel.

Hope this helps clarify your question.

The trip from Florence to Venice is aboard Eurostar Italia. The first class ride was fast, smooth and comfortable. My family of six thoroughly enjoyed the relaxing trip last June.

The entire Viva Italia trip exceeded our expectations. We will do another ABD trip soon!
