Viva Italia 9/14/08

I am new to discussion boards so I hope I am doing this correctly.

Is anyone going on the ABD Viva Italia tour 9/14/08 through 9/22/08? My mother and I are taking one of our dream vacations to see some of the beautiful sights of Italy.

Also, I have read many of the discussions concerning ABD, but I was unable to find out a couple of items. What "extras" do guests receive on the tours? Is ABD good about helping people with their food allergies? Do the Adventure Guides help guests make selections for meals not covered by the tour?

We went on the Viva Italia trip this year during the third week of September, and the weather was perfect. There were three sets of mother/daughters on our trip, so I am sure you will have company.

The first night we received a "goodie bag" with two umbrellas, suntan lotion, hand-held fans, and other lotions and things. The guides are very good about communicating to the kitchens any food allergies or other problems and restrictions. Each day the guides will recommend several restaurants for your "on your own" meals. We were pleased with everyone of their suggestions. Eating will not be a problem.

Our three biggest suggestions are: to have plenty of cash to use to buy from the street merchants in Florence, use a money belt, and take special care of cell phones and sunglasses being stolen.

We will be going on those dates too. It is just DH and me. I saw another post by you and asked you who was going with you. So I guess you can disreguard that question. Now I just have to get the flight booked. I look forward to meeting you in about 9 1/2 months!
